I really need some urgent help.

I have always used shared hosting, but never had any problems until recently. I have updated to vb 3.7.0 gold without any problems and also using vbSEO 3.1.0 // I have access to cpanel.

My vbulletin board is medium sized.

Problem is since 2/3 days ago I have been getting a lot of load (1.0 to 7.0+) problems, and I cannot seem to pin-point where the fault is, and disable a lot of settings under vb options that would reduce load.

please see screenshot

I am pulling my hair out but cannot seem to reduce the load, what package do you think it causing extensive load? -- remember i used to have a lot more packages on 3.6.6 and did not have this much load.

Really need someone to help me, as I really do not know what to do and have been threatened by the hosting company saying they would suspend my account.

Turn of VBSeo its a resource hog.

Also double check to make sure you dont have any crons that run to often.

Also switch to inferno shoutbox. It has the lowest usage of any shoutbox.

also the current shoutbox does not use ajax, and has to be manually refreshed.

On shared boxes, the load average is for the WHOLE server.

mmkay, You can't do anything about the server load, as its on a shared server.

2nd. You get what you pay for in the world of hosting. I can only imagine the server is crammed full of other sites so they can "budget host"

How it can work sadly.

It could be someone elses site is causing a lot of load though. Might be worth contacting your hosts and advising them of this.

I'm on shared hosting and my loads are consistantly around 2.xx

Then I suggest you ask them for the evidence or details that show your site is to blame, since your are on a shared server (i.e. many other sites). Without that there is little you can do as is its quite possible your site is not the issue.
