This mod allows admins to install and manage Standard Tabbars... aka {Nav-Tabs}...

ATTENTION: download Tutorial for better help...

What does it do? Installs multi-tabbar above your navbar...Other options in future updates...

Setup global option in CMPS admin to show on frontpage...

Goto CMPS admin and find default settings / main options...
Scroll down and find...>>> Portal Output Global Variables...
Insert $var...>>> $tabbarsuite or tabbarsuite,,, SAVE
Last setup images path below...

Gallery or Photopost setup: upload images folder...>>> { tabbars } to your gallery root images folder...

There are many color sets to choice from within the tabbars folder... 31 total sets...
If you have your own set that you prefer to use,,, upload to tabbars folder and overwrite one of the original sets with yours, and select by number option...

Goto admincp and open manage products
Select and install plugin tabbar_suite.xml
After setup goto forum and view navbar
If images uploaded correctly tabbar will show
If images don't show up * Check your image path
Goto Tabbar Suite settings and begin Css setup

Setup CSS in admin options...


View and make sure first two options on
View and setup css font family no-hover
View and setup css font family hover
View and setup css link text color
View and setup css visited link text color
View and setup css float left or right
View and setup css padding left or right shift
View and setup css background color or transparent
View and setup css bottom border color

Image paths in admin options...

Edit left and right image paths in admin options...

Right = images/tabbars/css5_L.gif

If you followed the first four steps and images don't show, you must edit the path above in the Tabbar Suite options... View first step to understand how to link to images folder...

Ok, if you made it here then your images are showing?
If you want to change image sets, edit the path above in options...
How? Edit the numbers only in both paths and your images will change to that number set...

Example: css5_L.gif <<<..... edit the number only {5} to change color sets...

If you uploaded the IMAGE folder to the correct path and also checked the vbsettings are correct,,, then all will go well...

I set this mod up on several forums without any issues on the first go...

If the images are loaded to the correct path and mod is switched on with activations,,, you will have no problems...

have installed this hack ...used cmps version because i have forum and cmps in same forum root ... (mean index.php and index_cmps.php)- after get error in IE page of my forum and cmps page (down on left side - i thing that is from crome.js) can be that fixed ?

Install only the CMPS version which works with both forums and frontpage...
If you've separated into two entities,,, then still use the CMPS version which has been updated to show tabbars in both forum and frontpage without errors...

I will update the dropdowns and a few other options,,, hopefully by the end of the month...

Hopefully all my questions aren't annoying you, Tabbars is an excellent product and I'm just trying to help you make it even better. :-)

My next question is this: It appears that once you add dropdown choices under a particular tab, you can no longer click on the main Tab and go somewhere. Once you add choices, you HAVE to select one of the dropdown choices. Clicking on the main tab doesn't take you anywhere. Is there anyway to change it so that you can either choose one of the dropdown choices OR click on the main tab? Or, perhaps I have it setup incorrectly? Hopefully my question makes sense.

Why do you put CSS and other Style-related stuff in vBulletin settings?
That's the totally wrong place, you really should use the vBulletin CSS editor for CSS, and stylevars for image directories, etc.

There are hooks you can use to handle custom CSS classes, Image Paths.

I don't think there should be a maximum, but 20 should be fine for anyone and give some air for future desktop resolutions.

I see your issue,,, Your global var is working fine,,, its your images location thats causing your problem...

To fix your issue,,, all you need to do is upload the images folder TABBARS to your CMPS root...

On logout only will it do that,,, don't worry because you don't need the tabbars on logout...
After you have completed your logout within seconds ALL tabbars will return...

Did you overwrite the old file?

Uninstall tabbarsuite in your product manager and reinstall again...
That should fix it...

I just tested again and all working on several sites...
I recommend that before updating the new file to uninstall the old ver...
Make sure that you re-insert the VAR ...>>> $tabbarsuite in navbar and CMPS if updating from first version...

images to be uploaded to ...>>> forum/images/tabbars/ = images will show up
clientscript to be uploaded to...>>> forum/clientscript/ = dropdowns will show up

A little fix for IE6:

If you use more than 6 tabs, there's a chance that the row will wrap into two ugly rows.

The fix?

1. Go to tabbar_suite_main template or search for <!--Tabbars Suite Start-->.

2. Add the text in red to the template.

A little fix for showing tab images when not in the forum root directory (like here (http://www.topsynergy.net/dyna-library/)):

Add a backslash to the begining of "images/tabbars/css20_L.gif" and "images/tabbars/css20_R.gif" in the AdminCP, so it becomes:

"/images/tabbars/css20_L.gif"

I also suggest to change it in the product XML for future versions.

I need to activate only tab #10 as a dropdown while the rest are functioning as direct links.

How do I make it work through options and template settings?

So far my experimentations (deleting URL for tab #10 in options and setting up menu options for #10 alone in template) created just a mess.

Using your default template works. This setting, however does not.

Its a spacer TAG thats causing the images to not sit on-top of the NAVBAR...>>> <br/> <<<

Open your NAVBAR template and look at the top for this...>>> <br/> or <br> and move $tabbarsuite below it...

That plain color is probably one of the images is missing or not setup correctly... Check that its uploaded or setup in Admin options...

Dropdowns are setup a bit different...

That plain color is probably one of the images is missing or not setup correctly... Check that its uploaded or setup in Admin options...

{1} Open Admincp and goto vba CMPS and open...
{2} Open default settings...
{3} Look for Main options and open...
{4} Look for Portal Output Global Variables...
{5} Read info below on setup...

If you have other hacks installed (especially to hacks located within the vBulletin navbar), it may be necessary to globalize some of the variables used in those hacks for the CMPS. You may enter a list of variables to globalize here. It is NOT necessary to add the $ mark before the variable name. Separate each variable with a carriage return (new line).

{6} Download Tutorial and insert $vars and save...
{7} Make sure that you upload images and clientscript to CMPS root...
{8} Goto CMPS frontpage and refresh and view tabbars...
{9} If you dont FTP files to correct path,,, this mod wont work...

Change to a higher or lower number to shift tabbars left or right...

I have another update coming this month that will makes things a bit easier...

Because of the resolution used my users I think about 10-14 tabbars might be best,,, unless you want to double stack them??????

A little fix for showing tab images when not in the forum root directory (like here (http://www.topsynergy.net/dyna-library/)):

Add a backslash to the begining of "images/tabbars/css20_L.gif" and "images/tabbars/css20_R.gif" in the AdminCP, so it becomes:

"/images/tabbars/css20_L.gif"

I also suggest to change it in the product XML for future versions.

Your DROPDOWNS not working?
Upload the clientscript folder again and verify that the chrome.js file is in the folder...
Goto admin options and turn on Dropdowns...
If you uploaded the folders to correct path the first time it should show dropdowns...
If you can't get it to work,,, Give me access to your Test forum...

Your INVERTED TABBARs has a space on the last and its not FLUSH with the body margin at {0}... I think you should uninstall both and install one at a time and verify that the first is working with dropdowns on...

I can fix all issues,,, but I will need access to your TEST forum to find out what's going on with installation of both Tabbar Sets...

Adding to ipbproarcade by way of template insertion of $var...<<<>>> = Add $tabbarsuite to ipbroarcade template... If it uses a separate folder,,, upload images to that folder...

YES,,, there's a bug in the CUSTOM images 1.4 version when using IE5.5 and 6... IE Sucks!

I suggest reverting back to version 1.3,,, until I find a workaround...

I suggest browsing through the tabbars folder and find one of the lighter colored sets and edit both images using one of the better Image editor's...

I use Fireworks and AdobePS to create custom tabbars...
That set over at Thesynergy was created over a year ago when I started Tabbars...

Next month I will dabble into creating a few more custom colored sets or PRO SETs...

Folks when turning on dropdowns,,, you must remember that it deactivates the first tabbar link...

If you want to move the dropdowns to other tabbars,,, all you have to do is edit tabbar_suite_main template and move ...>>> rel="dropmenu?"> to that tabbar and save...

I still don't use it in production system, but I will and it would be great, if you find a way of updating, where the changes in the templates are not simply overwritten, but one will have a chance to do it by hand - at least it's a navigation and with a wrecked navigation ones site sinks in the depth of uselesness ... :p

Your question about dropdowns?

Currently when using dropdown menu's you will experience that issue...
If dropdown is active on any tabbar,,, that tabbar's main tab will disable and only dropdowns will become active... If this mod becomes more popular I will update it with better options...

Also I noticed that your tabbars aren't flush with your navbar...

FIX? ...>>> check your code within navbar template and place $tabbarsuite below this ...>>> <br />
