PM's disappearing after viewing

It seems PM's to me are disappearing after displaying them even if I haven't clicked through each one...Inbox is empty after they are displayed in preview screen. What gives?

Try disabling all your modifications. More than likely, one is messing with your private messages.

actually, this appears to be a visitors messages issue. How does one locate visitor messages once they've been displayed?

Visitor Messages are on a person's profile. They should not be shown in you PM inbox.
