I just got Vbulletin and installed it to my server. I want to intergrade this forum on my home page. So I went ahead and put Vbulletin in a "Inline Frame" window and place it on a table on my home page.
So far it is working fine. I would just like to know if there will be problems down the road. I did find one problem. When you click the link to my domain name (Home page) at the bottom of my forum, it did not just refresh the whole home page. It tried to put my whole home page in this "Inline Frame". If it work, it would have had my home page on the out side of the window like it should, but would have the whole home page in this window too. Ouch!! But it just froze.
After this happen, I went ahead and made a post and put a link to a web site in it. Then look at that post and click that link. This link took me to a whole new window to go to that website, rather than putting that website inside of the Inline Frame window. That work great.
There has to be a better way to intergrade vbulletin to my home page. Do to vbulletin already being installed on my server. I can see using a Inline frame for a remotly hosted forum. But not for this kind of forum.
Here is what I came accross by just playing around with my front page 2003. I was able to open the "index.php" file in front page 2003. It showed the front page of Vbulletin and I was able to delete the Vbulletin logo and it looks like I would be able to build my home page around the forum in the "index.php" file.
I did not save it or publish it to my server. Because I am not sure if I would have to edit more files in Vbulletin to make the whole forum setup to look like my home page. I would think you would have edit more files, because this seems like it would be to easy by just making the "index.php" file to look like my home page. Am I right that you would have to edit more? If so, can you post a link to a place that will show me how to intergrade my forum?
Also I love how vbulletin.org has the BOTM Poll box, MOTM Poll box and so on, on the left side of the home page. How do you do that? Is there a place in vbulletin control panel to set it up that way on your website? Please help me on this one. I really want to do this on my home page.
Thank you,
MrMichigan
