Blak-Ice Original vB 3.7.0

I decided after several requests... to bring this style up to speed with the current version of vB.

For all the Blak-Ice fans, v2 is in the design stage and looks to be one of our best :) Keep an eye out for that one as well.

In the "style files" folder, there is only a single file, but the instructions say there should be a fixed .xml file as well. Is that available?

Well I found the style I'm gonna use. However a couple of things need attention. In the album the page numbers is missing the down arrow on the right end. And the log out is undefinded. The log out box says>

The file has been updated, and the missing image ("menu_open_usercss") is in the misc folder

It is now included in the psd folder.

I also made a couple minor tweaks to the style & cleaned up some code. From the AdminCP select "Download / Upload Styles" > Merge into style dropdown select "Blak-Ice" and browse to the "Style Files" folder of the package you just unzipped then select the xml file to import. Click Import...done.

Thanks for the button image, but there seems to be a problem. You can see the difference with my new buttons versus the originals (mine are videos and forum). Attached is a screenshot as well.

And something else as well. You left out the open and collapse arrows in the user profile. That's easy to fix. I made copies of the collapse_alt and collapse_alt_collapse arrows. Renamed them collapse_generic and collapse_generic_collapse respectively. Shot them up to the buttons folder and they worked first time out.

The image is the "tcat_bottom_fill", It should be in the Misc folder and the code should be in the "forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost" template.

1. Make sure the image was uploaded to your Blak-Ice misc folder
2. go to the blak ice style through your admincp>styles and templates>style manager
3. open the forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost template
4. find:

Most likely the image didn't upload correctly so check that first then verify the coding is correct...Let me know if that does it :)

I'll take a look at the vbadvanced tonite. I'll also re-slice the navbar images, I would recommend coding extra links under the "quick links" as eventually you'll run out of room for buttons. There is probably room for 4-6 buttons before it starts getting messy.

Did you try changing to full url?

Did the images upload properly?
Where did you upload the Blak-Ice folder? If it isn't located in the forum root you will need to change the style options to match the location of the images. e.g. if you uploaded Blak-Ice to a different folder on your forum such as "styles" then you will need to go to the Blak-Ice "All Style Options" and set the "Image Paths" section to match. In this example all the paths would be "styles/blak_ice/misc".

Changed the address as stated. No joy there.

That's strange. You can see it but I can't. I was piddling with any line that has the tcat bottom filler gif file name inserting the path for my folder. If it didn't make a differnce I reverted it back to like I found it. But when I hit this one it worked.
Additional CSS Definitions

I inserted my url path in this line and now I can see it.

Hello ShadyMDUK I installed the the vbExperiance without problems on this skin, did you also uploaded the images in the blak ice folder as well?

Hello Hoof i also have the same problem that the buttons does not look the same after i modifiy the button text, i guess it is related to the saving of the images as gif.

Can you let me know which settings you are using to save the nav buttons!!

Navbar zip added for download. This is the original navbar design and I decided to just include the entire file instead of slicing into a "button" and trying to get it to match. Modify it as you need :)

For the missing "buttons/collapse_generic.gif and misc/userfield_edit.gif"
The collapse_generic (buttons folder) I just copied the collapse_alt buttons and renamed them.
For the userfield_edit (misc folder) I used the default

Sounds like you have a "repeat" added to your code. Not sure what you modified but I would look for that.

I saw that also. What I did was take out his url and replace it with mine. Don't change the path just the url and you'll be fine. As for the buttons i think he's updated those.

and I didn't upload the style to my actual forum on the web yet. I only tested it on the localhost on my computer because I need to translate and change some buttons first and I hoped you can help me with this.

Is your value 175? if it is change to 250.
You will need to find:

and make the value the same :)

It's a preference that I use as well, I add all templates to a "Styles" folder for organization. I don't normally add another level in the Images folder though.

What you can do for now is copy the "lastpost.gif" and rename it to "viewpost.gif" to resolve that immediately ;)

I had that same problem until I went thru all of the templets and the css page and replaced any reference to his forum with my own url. Now things don't randomly vanish. Put as your url the complete http://yourforumaddress.com. Although it's a pain in the gazootenblats, in the end it's well worth the trouble.

Now my turn to ask something. I have activated the tags and prefixes. The problem is with the tags. When I click on a tag from the search menu and get taken to a post that matches, I get a red x and a box just off the center of the thread info that has the tag info in it for that thread. When I run the properties of the box it says it's under misc and has a name of tag.png. This file is no where to be found.

How do I either fix this or kill the function in this theme? This is the only theme I use that has this feature. Turning off the VB tag feature is not an option.

Did you edit both images in the Navbar code for the new logo?

Find in Navbar Template:

Edit the green parts. The "logo_fill.gif" will need to be resized the same as your new logo image or it will show a portion of the image or background color behind the new image on the bottom.
If you are replacing with one image just edit that code above for the new logo.

The code in the header template is for the blue to black images that wrap the forum ;)
To change the logo copy.gif you will find the code in the navbar template.

I believe that is from the vbcredits mod and you will need to drop the image in the Blak-Ice folder...I believe it is the misc folder but you'll need to follow their instructions.

Is it a theme bug that I only see the box where you can make your new thread half at the page? Check attachment below.

hoof, great style and its working great for me except with one mod i use on the profile screen

its just your style i have this issue with as the others load fine

I can't really see from the screenshots what you are having problems with. Is it the gamertag hack? I have that up and running on my site with no issues, it looks as if you put the code in the wrong place. It looks like it is trying to create a tab instead of placing it in the blocks on the right.

Hello, I just upgraded from the 3.7.0 templates to the 3.7.2. version and I'm also running into the problem mentioned above, with the postbox being left justified and being too small. The template fix didn't seem to fix it, though

Sorry, but I couldn't wait any longer so I started taking a closer look at this issue and it turns out that mine was only doing this as a "New Thread" option and everything else worked fine.

I attempted to fix it figuring I could always reload the template to resolve any mistakes I'd make. Turns out the solution to to revert the one template back to the original status.

Worked fine and all is well. Not sure if that is going to solve everybody's issues, those having them, but it resolved mine.

BTW, really like this skin.

Listed as number 1: Not sure but think this might be the navbar you install but I prefer the second one and would like to get rid of the top or Number 1 Navbar.

Right click the red x and select properties. That will show you what it's supposed to be and where it's looking to find it. I fixed a slew of themes that way.

hello i installed the style on my website (87.iut-gmp.fr) but i've got some trouble with the text box when writing a new post, in fact the writing bow is not as wide as the page. Could you help me ?

I'm pretty green at all this. Where are the templates and the CSS page that you are referring to located? I've found and fixed everything but this last missing top bar.

I had that same problem until I went thru all of the templets and the css page and replaced any reference to his forum with my own url. Now things don't randomly vanish. Put as your url the complete http://yourforumaddress.com. Although it's a pain in the gazootenblats, in the end it's well worth the trouble.

Now my turn to ask something. I have activated the tags and prefixes. The problem is with the tags. When I click on a tag from the search menu and get taken to a post that matches, I get a red x and a box just off the center of the thread info that has the tag info in it for that thread. When I run the properties of the box it says it's under misc and has a name of tag.png. This file is no where to be found.

How do I either fix this or kill the function in this theme? This is the only theme I use that has this feature. Turning off the VB tag feature is not an option.

Well, that didn't fix my issue with this. I've now tried both solutions (Hoof's and yours) and neither worked.

Any other ideas?

Sorry, but I couldn't wait any longer so I started taking a closer look at this issue and it turns out that mine was only doing this as a "New Thread" option and everything else worked fine.

I attempted to fix it figuring I could always reload the template to resolve any mistakes I'd make. Turns out the solution to to revert the one template back to the original status.

Worked fine and all is well. Not sure if that is going to solve everybody's issues, those having them, but it resolved mine.

BTW, really like this skin.

Hi all,

I'm trying to modify the top banner graphic and center it. I've made it slightly smaller with my own graphic over the top of the fill section but, I can't seem to get the center portion and the right portion to move to the left and connect up to the left side.

Any idea as to what I'm doing wrong?

I can get the left "rounded" end of the graphic to butt up against the other part by changing the alignment to "Right" but, I cannot seem to get everything centered above the rest of the web forum like I want it. I've tried changing the alignment to left and centered on all the little parts of the banner graphic but, nothing seems to work.

I figure it is something simple with the table definition that I am just not seeing.

I was just missing a couple zeros in the User Group options. Call me Polish cuz I am. ;-)

Anyone have a "New Posts" button that I could use? I want to add a mod that uses one but I can't seem to find that button that matches the color scheme nor am I good enough to create one that matches.

I'm not seeing a repeating tcat_fill image in the demos. However, I see it in the source code.

I've also noticed that the category expand and collapse images are not showing up. Also, there seems to be a text alignment issue on the member's profile page and on the social groups page where messages are posted.
