Anonymous Posting

I've noticed that this site uses a feature that allows members to post anonymously:

I've contacted the owner of this site and he says there is no way for him to track the IP address of anonymous posters... I'm wondering if he is telling the truth? Is there a way to track this stuff?

It really depends on how he is achieving Anonymous posts and privacy policies...in a programming perspective, the IP address can be saved.
