Prison Bars on Banned Users Avatars

What is it?
It displays a transparent avatar on top of your banned users avatars
simulating prison bars. The idea is from Jailmod for phpbb. Since the
actual jail functionality is pretty much covered in vBulletin, I thought
I might enhance the fun with some jailbars in vBulletin also. Enjoy!

Sure. You can specify whatever groupid you want them to appear on.

No. You can't place bars on nothing. :) Give them an avatar, and they will be "barred".

A user that is temporary banned like this does not show any avatar i members list in the first place, so that won't be possible without modifying code (and that we should not do).

I don't know if "or" works in the templates. It could look like this:

You can test these two approaches and report back to us if it works.

No it does not disappear. Are you sure you haven't actuallly deleted the user? Try a temporary ban of a couple of days and check if that works better.

I had the same prob till I ticked Keep Custom Avatar, then the avatar came back with the bars (3.7.1)

I don't think you should be scared about trying this in such a minor release. It's just a couple of template edits. Easy to revert.

Can this work with multiple groups? I have a temporary banned grouped which is hooked to the infraction system like the banned group... i did group number ex. 7,13 or 7, 13 the bars show up in temp banned profile but not in postbit. Any ideas?

In the Banned usergroup options, allow them to upload custom avatars. That resolved it for me.

The postbit part of this mod doesn't seem to be working in the latest vB release (memberinfo_block_ministats is though). There's another IF statement around that bit of code in 3.8.0, but I don't see why the modification wouldn't simply work. Could of course be that I'm in need of sleep though :)

cause the bars is max sized, and the profile picture is smaller than the bars
so two options scale profile pic or scare bars.

or set the css for the profilepic to no-repeat.
but i have no idea where that is done :D

Yeah unless you let banned users keep the avatar, the avatar will disappear for both temporary and permanent bans

We had the exact same problem, so we removed this modification.

The issues is the mismatch between the size of the avatar as a background image and the size of the cell bars as a foreground image.

This mod does not had enough value to be worth the trouble, IMHO.
