If you set this to '0' trimming is done using this setting:
Last Thread Title Maximum Displayed Characters (Forum Listings Display Options)

If you set this to '1' trimming will be completely disabled (full titles shown).

Be noted that this setting affects all thread titles in all stats.

Being absolutely guilty of not looking earlier through this thread for an answer - If I only want to use 3 different types of stats (Forum news, Blogs, Latest Posts).
And I want to customize them into my style - is there a quick and easy way to do this,

I've designed a nice little enclosure already for these in my footer- What templates would I need to edit to just reproduce the following and what variables would I need to use

One question. If I have a member who does not wish to be on the stats list (for good reason), but I can't block his usergroup since he is a registered user.

I tried putting him in a new "additional" usergroup and filtered that group, but it did not seem to stop his stats from showing.

Any ideas? Thanks!

I installed this hack on my big-board last night and it promptly sent the web server loads into the stratosphere. Had to firewall everyone so I could get back in and disable the hack. Has this been tested on larger forums previously? Is there a time period where it compiles all the stats after initially being installed? I would love to use it.

Thanks.. just installed and I like it but i noticed that it looks fine in all browsers except ie7; on ie7 the title bar where it says "top 5 stats" is like 6" tall, however it comes up fine in all other browsers. Does anyone know how I can fix this or what templates i access to fix it? I installed it here (http://promojunkie.com/forum/).

I have mine set up to show "hottest threads". For some reason, these are being pulled from one of my forums. All the rest of the forums seem to work properly.

No forums are disabled via the product, and the forum that doesn't work in hottest threads is working in the rest of the parts of this product.

Actually, this appears to be an issue with one specific thread. I move the thread into another forum, and it still wouldn't show up in the "hottest threads" section.

I have mine set to 10 days. Now I have multiple threads, all with hundreds of posts, and all replied to within the last 10 days, that have vanished from this listing. They were showing up yesterday and all have been replied to withing the last couple days.

This setting is making no sense to me.

Think I figured this out. With the 10 days, the thread will disappear as soon as it is 10 days old. I was thinking this was taking an average for the last 10 day (basically a rolling average)

Instructions on how to enable Top Stats in vBadvanced CMPS.


1. Hack Options
Add 'adv_index' to the 'Stats on custom pages" setting field

2. vBa CMPS > Default Settings
In Portal Output Global Variables setting put cybtopstats (without $), then Save

3. Put $cybtopstats in desired template, where you wish Stats to appear.
For example open template adv_portal and put $cybtopstats (with $) below $navbar.

Well, I do know that with IE you need to use an ActiveX object instead of the XmlHttpRequest object.

We tried this mod a few weeks ago. Its great! However, it slows down our forum's main page drastically with 229,000+ threads to scan, etc. So we had to take it offline.

I hope that you will consider adding a cached version which could be updated by one access perhaps every 30 minutes or so based on an admincp setting so it doesn't slow down the site. That would be fantastic!

Question, I love this mod and would like to add it but every time I try it locks up my site. Is it because I'm trying it on a board with 1.4 million posts? IS it just taking a long tome to query the first time or something. I can deal with that and maybe add it at late at night when little users are on . I've never waited past 4 minutes for it to stop. Hi everyone! I installed this add on this morning. It works fine. But I just noticed one issue. Latest posts may be still marked as unread, even though I have read them, and even my vBulletin no longer marks them as unread.

My vBulletin settings for Thread/Forum Read Marking Type: Database (automatic forum marking)

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is there a way to correct this, so the read marking within this add-on is synchronized with the read marking of vbulletin?

I'm using the latest vBulletin 3.8.2.

I found answer to my own question:


It's actually marked as "new", not "unread" which means it's posted after you last visit. When you mark forums as read (and update "last visit" info in your account) then those icons will change to grey.


I bet most users would find it more intuitive if the behavior of the markings changed in line with the behavior of the read markings of vBulletin. Is this possible? I would appreciate it very much.

but... it has only been a week, and it has only been me. and as you can tell, i'm an amateur :) nobody said to me: this is your product options page! i've been thinking of it as my admin control panel vbulletin options. i forget that you guys all call vbulletin 'product'.

that page was the first place i went, and i couldn't see any option there for designating which forums showed up (or rather, didn't show up) in the top stats? can you tell me specifically which setting i need to edit please?

I think this is a very good mod. A user on our forum said he would like to see the "hottest threads" etc take you to the first unread post when you click the link, instead of to the end of the thread like it does now. If possible, it'd be a nice feature.

Help! I tried to upgrade to the 6.6.1 version. I didn't like the layout so much - and I noticed that the "Latest Posts" section was blank. So I reinstalled the older 5.8.1 version and voila - the Latest Posts section is still blank!! I didn't make any changes.

Could someone please give me some guidance on what to do here? Thanks!

I found out what it was - it's a bug.

Whenever I add forum IDs for the forums to be excluded from the stats, anything to do with thread titles disappear from the results. This only happened after I reinstalled it. It was working fine before.

My latest posts section has also now gone blank. It was working fine for over a year and has now just gone blank for all registered users. It still displays ok for mods and admin though.

Anyone got any ideas?

and so I did a test with version 3.7.x and it works great and everything went ok

as a newbie I have a older version installed 2.0 and these directions say just to import this and thats it. Is that all I have to do is do that and I dont have to screw with anything else as long as I have the older version installed,lmk thanks

We just upgraded our board from the vb 3.8.2 version to vB 3.8.7 and the "latest posts" are not showing now??

Note: This problem applies to both versions of the CYB stats -- 5.8.1 and the ajax based 6.6.2
