I don't really understand the portal output part. Can someone help me out with that so that it will show on my vBa page please?

If your template is modified and it doesn't show up (like mine) you just add the following to the navbar template:
<!-- member search -->
<tr>
<td class="thead">$vbphrase[navbar_member_search]</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="vbmenu_option" title="nohilite">
<form action="$vboptions[bburl]/memberlist.php" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="s" value="$session[sessionhash]" />
<input type="hidden" name="securitytoken" value="$bbuserinfo[securitytoken]" />
<input type="hidden" name="do" value="getall" />
<div><input type="text" class="bginput" name="ausername" size="25" value="$ltr" title="$vbphrase[username]" />$gobutton</div>
</form>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="vbmenu_option"><a href="$vboptions[bburl]/memberlist.php?do=search$session[sessionurl_q]" accesskey="4" rel="nofollow">$vbphrase[navbar_advanced_search]</a></td>
</tr>
<!-- end member search -->

This is actually not up to par with how it should be done. There is actually a template hook for the search dropdown that vBulletin Developers placed in to be used by their products such as the blog and project tools. Which if it was setup properly you wouldnt have to change anything for it to show up on vbadvanced or anything other high customized addon such as the arcade which it doesnt show up on.
I created a few of these addons on my site and have a few more planned. Maybe I will package my code up into one proper package for release so you can add in search for tags, members, social groups, arcade(if you have it installed), and maybe a few others.

Well searching is important in building a proper social networking site. So the easier we make it for users to search for different things to find what they want the better. Thus why I have been working on pulling out code to setup navbar searches for every search form that makes sense to have one for.

I never even promised it for a fact yet. ;)
But most likely I will spend some time later and go threw and clean it all up and turn it into something a bit nicer for public release assuming things go according to plan for the day.

Not working here on 3.7.1 pl2. I just tried importing it again with overwrite, but getting the same error:
Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing or mismatched.It does properly go to Advanced Member Search, and that works.
edit: Belay that. I imported again after sending this, and now it's working. Odd. Maybe I forgot to allow overwrite the first time? I'd swear I did.

I have a slight problem where the member search is smaller than my other search boxes. I attached an image to show you.
How can we make the member search to stretch out and be the same size as the other search boxes?

Doesn't work for me. Search box and everything shows up fine but when I go to search for a member I get an error.

Doesn't work for me. Search box and everything shows up fine but when I go to search for a member I get an error.That's pretty descriptive. With all that information we'll have no trouble at all helping you fix it.

Thanks for the great mod.
Have installed it on vb 3.8.1 and CMPS v3.0.1
Works great on both.

I added the necessary option for CMPS but it still does not show up on my index page navbar. It does show on the navbar for every other page though.
Any ideas?
