Info:
Advanced PayPal Donate system for vBulletin.

Features:
-Allow users to donate suggested or custom amounts, or both
-Set minimum amount accepted
-Set currency
-Block usergroups from using Donate system
-Donations list
-Subscriptions (for Business/Premier PayPal Accounts)
-Donation Bar
-Mark donations as confirmed/unconfirmed
-Delete donations
-Move or add confirmed donators to your VIP/Donator usergroup
-Donate statistics (total donations, total amount, numbers of confirmed/unconfirmed donations)
-Block usergroups from viewing Donations or statistics details
-Add donations manually
-Edit donations
-PM reports

Installation:
1. Import XML file (as product): AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]

2. OPTIONAL (for some customized styles)
Open template "navbar" and add "$cyb_paypal_donate_link" after "vbphrase[user_cp]</a></td>" surrounded by proper TD tags
3. OPTIONAL (for some customized styles)
Open template "navbar" and add "$cybpaypal_donlist_link" after "vbphrase[miscellaneous]</td></tr>" surrounded by proper TD/TR tags
4. OPTIONAL (to put DonBar to desired page)
a) set THIS_SCRIPT option in hack settings
b) Open desired template and put "$cybpaypal_donbar" where you wish to have Donation Bar shown

To set options:
Go to your AdminCP > vBulletin Options > Cyb - PayPal Donate

it took some creativity to get the older version to work with the new VB security patch. is there a way to update rather than reinstall this hack?

I've been using the older mod for a long time and love it. I know you took out the subscriber option for some reason at some point. Would you consider adding it back in as an option (or maybe give instructions on how to hack it back in)?

Thanks, installed on 3.6.10, but with issues. Upgrading seems to have lost my list of donors and if I attempt to (laboriously) add them again manually it craps out with:

"Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing or mismatched.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error."

Thanks, not a huge problem for me, just thought I'd report it.

I just upgraded to 3.7.0 and the process to upgrade your mod to version 4.5 quitted with the following error:
A conflict was detected in the bitfields. You cannot continue with the installation of this product until this has been fixed. The conflicts found were:

* Bitfield Collision: prefixrequired = credits_cantearn

Do you have an idea where the problem is?

2) Can I delete version 4.4 without deleting all the donations? I installed 4.5, so now I have two versions running...

all seems to be working fine in 3.7 but having issues with it displaying / not displaying bits of the donation bar or the quick links hook in vbadvanced portal popups.

The problem can be seen on www.furious-angels.com on the main portal page but if you look on www.furious-angels.com/index2.php it all works fine.

Any suggestions?

I've had 4 people donated but the bar ain't showed nothing and still at 0 GBP

Payments have cleared paypal :confused:

hey, i made the goal amount 0 since i just wanted to show what actual has been donated without a goal amount, wouldnt that be a great feature?

Still a great mod,thx again.

However, there is still no option to donate any amount apart from whole pounds or euros. If i want to send a payment of ?3.50, i put that figure in the amount box and click donate but when i am transferred to paypal the amount has dropped to ?3.00!

Any chance of a fix/update?:confused:

I do need some serious help with this one please. I have selected to add a Your Donator/VIP usergroup ID as Donator. But When I tested it on myself, and ticked the box to add me to the Donator usergroup, I am now getting errors. As I had not made this usergroup in the database. How do I set my profile backup, or even how do I add Donator in the database?

It will be listed twice in your products manager, uninstall all and install new one. :up:

You will loose your donation list and have to go through the settings again, eg: add your paypal email address.

I followed your steps but it still erased all my donations. I'm now reentering them manually (luckily still don't have that many).

EDIT - I ended up manually importing the table backed up in your steps. Reimporting that data brought it all back.

What a great and essential MOD. Thank you very much. Installed and nominated.

However, contributors are not being assigned the designated additional usergroup. Obviously they do not show that usergroup on their postbit after assigning that usergroup manually. Please advise.

Is there a way to prevent from registering a donation as soon as the user clicks the <Donate> button?

I find myself administrating the confirmation form for each click made by the users, regardless of whether they completed the transaction or not.

There is a way to fix problem and keep all data:

1. Export "cybppdonate" table from your database, save to your computer
2. Go to your AdminCP > vBulletin Setings > "Cyb - PayPal Donate" and just leave this page opened
3. Open product manager in different browser tab and uninstall "Cyb - PayPal Donate" (both instances)
4. Import latest version of hack
5. Go to browser tab where page from step 2 is opened, then just click Save at the bottom of the page
6. Import saved "cybppdonate" table to your database

If you haven't upgraded yet to 4.5 then apply this patch before doing so:

Where do I edit the automatically inserted donate link under the quick links menu? I did not find it in the navbar template, right above the private message link where it does show up in the actual menu.

I have just tried upgrading but I am getting a blank page whenever I attempt to bring up the donation page.

I am unable to get the links showing up either ie in the navbar or under misc.

I am running 3.6.8 & 3.7.0 on a test site, both are doing the same thing

This is what I get logged in as admin, yet regular member group does not see the link in the quick link menu drop down. I don't know why because I enabled the hack and set everything as it should be.

"Date format" in the "Cyb - PayPal Donate" Options should let you customize it like the "Date For Format" in "Date and Time Options" found in the Control Panel.

My date format is completely different than any of those two options.

mine is: Y年-m月-d日

I too believe that would have to be.

In Europe, in my case in Spain shows no date.
Shown only text d-m and o-m-d-y.
This also happens to more than 3 people I would recommend this mod.

mine is: %m-%d-%Y This is like what I have in the options dated vBulletin

in the table "vb_cybppdonate" in dateline show 1210629600 for date 13-05-08

Does that change would have to do is to show the date correctly?

Great Mod.

I am having the same probs as post #37 (not moving to the usergroup designated upon confirming donation) and also as #39 (as soon as a payment is made, when paypal returns to the merchant page, it ends up displaying all my smilies).

I'd suggest that having an option to define a custom phrase for a "thank you page" would be good, or possibly defining a URL to return to after the paypal transaction is complete. (maybe this is an issue with what paypal sends back?

At the moment, the usergroup not changing once I've told it to is the one that bugs me the most. Cyb, if you need any more info on this from me, I'd be happy to help test anything you suggest.

Modify the colour value to be something else that you like (for example, red would be #FF0000, or for a complete list, you could look here (http://www.w3schools.com/Html/html_colors.asp).)

When you upload/install the product, it will have that colour.

2. Use the Phrase Manager in your admin CP to do the same job after it is installed.
In the left hand column, select "Languages and Phrases/Search in Phrases" and then search for the text "cybpaypal_donate" and select to search in "Phrase Variable Name Only". Click on "find" and you'll see it listed up the top with its font colour. Edit it (copy default text, change it and save it). Now you will have the colour that you want.

Pretty simple. ;)

Please consider this request in future releases:

As you can tell by my donation page (http://www.topsynergy.net/misc.php?do=donate), the note is pretty verbose and takes a lot of space on the page. This is why I had to remove the donation bar from homepage, and from that moment on all donations have stopped because no one clicks the "donate" option on navbar.

I wish that we could administrate an option to post the Donation Bar without the note on selected pages, and the full text will only show on the donation page.

Unfortunately, it's very easy to fake a donation; you don't even need to have a real transaction. Just click the donate button, and you already have a donation:)

You can always delete that quasi-donation record later on from the donation list.

Nope.

- Activity will be logged on donation page but visible only to Admins
- PM reports will be sent (if you enable them in hack settings)
- Usergroup of potential donator will NOT be changed automatically

So they can click Donate button a million of times and get nothing before you confirm donation.

Installed and working in 3.7.0, but when a donator makes a donation after it has completed the user advises:

n dropping out of PayPal back to 4WM I got an error message from the site (4WM not PayPal) saying....

Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing or mismatched.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.

We are using a custom style, but are using reverted templates reedited only to add borders around the pages which match the style.

Comparing the custom templates with those installed in the original templates show all security tokens are in place.....

Strangely if I go straight to that donate page directly I get no errors at all.. weird.

So any ideas?

Hack adds two Donate links to my Navbar. I have one parent style and have confirmed that I have not added any Donate links to my Navbar. When I select "Display Donate link in navbar" to On in the settings I get two links. When I turn it off, I get no links.

Anybody else have this problem?

at first i want to say Thank You! for this extremely cool and helpful modification!
we are using it now on our website and we are extremely happy with it. :)

during the last days we have noticed that for some reason, everyone who tries to donate gets redirected to the german paypal page.
this is mostelikely caused by the fact that the account is from a german team member.
we allready set the language for the account in the paypal properties to english, but every donor ends up on the german paypal page.

now my question is if it would be possible that the script either automatically redirects the donor still to the paypal page in his language, or that you add a "language selection" (drop down menu) to the donate page, so the user can choose the language paypal should be displayed in.

would be very nice if you could take a look.

Were having the strange problem after upgrading to 3.7 and uninstalling old hack version and installing new version where the paypal page shows correctly but members donations are not getting to us. Any ideas?

Could it be down to the token issues in 3.7?

Hello, here's a new request, coming from site members and visitors alike:

If we limit donations to members only, the whole donation MOD is inaccessible to visitors.

We need to have the MOD (navbar & page) accessible to visitors while only the actual act of donation isn't permissible, so the visitor will get then the default message of requirement to login or subscribe.

Just use "$cyb_paypal_donate_link" variable instead of '<a href="misc.php?do=donate"...'. Then link will disappear automatically for excluded groups.

tafreeh if you open up your template you would like to edit go to header or navbar and click, read through the code and look for >donate< and just change the name between the brackets

I think this is because the mod doesn't use PayPal IPN but assumes in good faith that the member will complete the process. In addition to what you said, the donor table is updated even if the donation is not actually made.

Item is added to list as "potential donation". It's marked with different color and visible to Admins only. Potential donator's status will not change and potential donation amount will not count until Admin confirm donation.

One question though. Where the donation progress bar is being shown. When I put "index" as script, it shows it fine on the forums. However, I also have vBAdvanced installed and when I put "adv_index" as the script, it shows the block without the text "Goal amount for this month: 100 EUR, Received: 63 EUR (63%)". Do you know what it causing this?

Set target usergroup in hack settings, then select target user on Donations page, then execute one of these options from moderation menu:

-Confirm and Move to Donator group

I got this installed for 2 days now and received 3 PM's saying that someone used the Donation system. I didn't receive any payments whatsoever on my account though. How does it work exactly? When does an admin receive a PM about a donation made?
- You are informed that someone used Donate system (clicked on Donate button and redirected to PayPal)
- Check your PayPal account to confirm donation
- Then update donation status on Donations page (delete, or mark as confirmed, or mark as confirmed and change user's status, etc...)

First, this is GREAT hack... But, I need one small thing :) When someone donate, and if I move it to additional donate usergroup, i need to display some picture (coin or star) before (or after) his username everywhere (online status, members list, member info,...).

BUT, i want to preserve style settings from Primary Usergroup! So, if one primary usergroup have BLUE, and second RED color, I need to both still have his group colors, and to instert picture before (or after) his username - to mark it like donors!!!

PLEASE, can you do this? Can? Great!!! But, do you want to do it :)

Installed yesterday and got 5 donations.

- 3 worked fine
- 2 do not show the username of the donor - just the IP address - on the donor list. No - unregistered folk cannot donate.
- 1 of the IP address donations did not make it into my PayPal account

There is a similar issue going on with my Paid Subscriptions - vB support says that it could be related to vBSEO's .htaccess screwing up the return address taht PayPal is trying to send back to or that there may be somehting in my style that is making things go awry.

Any thoughts?

Do I need to have any particular PayPal account to accept payments via this MOD, such as a merchant account, or can I just leave my current PayPal account as the bog-standard one I use to buy things on eBay?

See, I expect to be charged by PayPal for processing Credit and Debit card payments as donations on my forum, but what I don't want is to have to pay for extra PayPal services that are used in conjunction with this MOD.

Is there any way to automate the approval process so that donations are automatically confirmed once they clear PayPal?

I've previously been using the vBulletin Paid Suscriptions feature for donating, and everything was fully automated. I just didn't have a donations bar or public donor list (aside from showgroups.php), which is why I upgraded to this mod.

I am having a problem with the subscription part of this I get this message (Sorry, the minimum amount accepted is 1 USD). But everything else works great. So can some one tell what I messed up I have it set like this 5|6,5|12, and so on HELP

I hate to do this, but I think there is really a problem.

I have this setting: 1,5,10|12,20|24,50,100

If I select the $10 and 12 month, the PayPal shows the correct amount $10, but in the confirmation page shows that I have donated $14, and if I select $20/24 shows that I have donated $28.

Ipuck, you should ask PayPal Support why there is an extra amount at the end.

Fox, check if "suggested amounts" and "minimum amount" settings are set properly. And ensure that hack templates are up-to-date. There are important changes in templates in v4.7.

I see you have to allow the XML to over write.

I never removed the old product before doing the update.

I have checked in my admin options and no option for subscriptions. So I take it to update, we have to remove the old product then install the latest version as a new product?

There is no need to uninstall older version and it's not recommended to do so, as it will delete your donation logs and settings. Just upgrade. Import XML, check 'overwrite'.

You may wish to save donation log to your PC by exporting 'cybppdonate' table from forum database, to be able to restore it if something goes wrong.

This was working fine until I upgraded and now when I select £5 to donate, it takes me to paypal with no amount picked, so I have to enter my amount manually anyway! I have not tested past this to see if payment is made as I don't have a sandbox setup yet.

OK, not sure what the problem is.. I upgraded to the newest version and now I am getting this db error when I try to view my donation page:

OK, never mind, turned out to another problem with the database one of the tables had crashed. Did "repair" and that fix it.

Same problem here, when a user selects $20 they get an error "minimum is $5usd".

same problem for me - i never suffered the 'minimum allowed' message before 4.7 - not I cant dontate cause that crap message keeps appearing.

I suppose I will need switch minimum amounts off till a proper fix it found.

I need to clarify a couple things on the subscriptions...

Does 5|1 simply give them an active membership for 1 month (reoccuring subscription) for 5 Euro?

Then Does 12|3 give them a 3 month membership (reoccuring subscription) for 12 Euro?

I have a couple problems. I've been using this mod for a long time and there have always been issues.

First, it isn't passing off the number to Paypal. When you select an amount and hit the donate button the Paypal page says "Please provide an amount and click Update Totals.". It then makes them fill in an amount in a blank field.

Second, it doesn't automatically add users to the designated donor group. It doesn't seem to recognize most legit donations as they go through. I see payments coming in that used the donate page through Paypal emails, but they don't show up anywhere on the list of donors for me to approve. And of course since the system isn't giving anyone credit, it doesn't reflect any changes on my donation bar graph.

I've had this addon running for awhile on my forums, it worked perfectly well until for some reason it no longer had a Quick Links>Donation Menu. Does anyone know why this Donations Menu may be missing, could it be that it only shows up when a donation has been made? Also I have checked my settings and the proper usergroups are set to be allowed to view it.

The xml you proved has not fixed the issues.

Since I last posted, I have had a member donate and although I got the PM telling me it was made and the payment is ok in paypal, the donation is not recorded in donations, nor was the user promoted to the donated usergroup.

Any chance you could post the older version that worked?

I had previously installed v4.5. However, wasn't ready to use it. Then was notified of latest update and used v4.7. Went straight to the XML in post #196 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1586188&postcount=196)^.

In my case, I disabled the move to Donator group. I have suggested amounts and custom as options. I set for the paypal page to open in new window/tab. Not sure what other settings might be relevant to this in troubleshooting.

user attempted to donate unregistered and registered, both did not recognize changing the amounts. Everytime, the paypal page would come up with the default lowest, suggested amount ($5). This occurred for using FF and IE.

v4.5

operation worked like a charm when the user was registered into the forums. he received both of his PMs, 1 having donated and 2nd after it was confirmed.

This is a great plugin and I'm trying to provide you with as much feedback as possible to help you resolve your latest version.

I have one question, why can't I add $15.67 in a donation? It only allowed dollar amounts and not change. Some users donate $1.50 or $20.56 but it will only show the dollar amount and not the cents.

I think i have managed to add it on to my website ok, (which means your instructions must be great by the way) but i cant work out how any donators (or the programme) know where to send donations too.... or am i looking at this all wrong...

( i wanted this so it's more in yer face!, like the one at VBAExpress when you visit a forum)

I had a person donate finally, he is a registered user. YET when I goto paypal, the payment is coming from: Donation to Support Backyard Turbo Forums (User: Unregistered). Why doesnt it show the user that sent the payment?

ALSO, When I goto the donations list in Quick links, it shows the donation but the username is a IP Address??? How do I get this mod working properly?? :)

when someone not registered make a donation we see his IP in the User name in the Donators List...

Is there a way to see "Anonymous" instead?

This would be great because it's not nice to show the donator IP ... :)

I'm still getting donation attempts that show up as IP addresses on the donation page, but no money makes it into PayPal. Searching the IP against usernames come sup with no matches.

Only Admins will see IP addresses on the list, other users will see "Unknown".

Thanks! That fixed the only bug I've had so far. Although, just installed it yesterday. Looks awesome so far, and can't wait to further put it to some use. I'd love to see categories integrated into this, that way they can donate to separate projects themselves, and your hack keep those separated depending on the project itself. Also have it where I could have different paypal accounts per project just in case. Please let me know if you do decide to do this please. I will most definitely need it!:D

hi :) Maybe this has been answered, and if so if someone could point me to the post,

I have the vbadvanced cmps installed, but nothing related to the paypal donate shows up. Specifically the donation bar, or the option within the Quicklinks. They do show up once going to the main forum though.
Or, if possible, does someone have info on installing a module in vbadvanced for this mod?

honestly it works now as the minimum accepted amount bug is solved... BUT I have the problem that in vbulletin 3.7.2 I can not see the donations in the donation listing page... it shows only the standard phrase No Donators or not added.
The main usage is given... it lets people donate again, but the earlier versions showed the donations listed and I had the chance to validate the donations and so on... missing this feature :( and well even reinstall did not help... any ideas?

I just noticed a bug.
I've kept 5USD minimum amount in donation. And set 5 options for donation-subscriptions and custom option also but even if user select any option in donation and click on donation it shows "sorry, minimum 5USD amount is accepted." though amont in option is more than 5USD.

plz help me how to fix it.

i found a bug that in the last version wasn't present, i've setted it with a min ammount of 5 eur and with custom+select options, but if you go to do a donation and choiche a 10eur the system tells you that you cannot donate less of 5 eur
