Not a problem, I have made it so that I can update the 3.6 version and the 3.7 version very easily without the need to write the same stuff for both modifications.

Thanks, Paul.

I've installed this on my 3.6.10 but in the Help Center page there are no options to create a new ticket..all that there is:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

Are all the admin settings in > vBulletin Options > HelpCenter Main Settings? There is no Link on the side like the vBulletin Options, Styles & Templates, etc... I see no usergroup permissions at all, anywhere as stated in the mod descriptions. I don't think the admin CP is installing even though that file is uploaded to the correct folder.

I see this in the Readme file:

vBulletin Version: 3.7
Product Version: 1.00 Beta 3
Authors: Paul Cook (PaulSonny) and Jason Abbott (Jase2)
With Thanks To: John Persson (John3971) {Fan Rage} and Leigh Sumpter (Leigh) {New Modifications}

Is this for 3.6 or 3.7?

PaulSonny

This download is for vBulletin 3.6, I may have just forgotten to update the README file.

After reviewing the cpnav and bitfields file I have realised I had forgotten to update those to the new product ID for this version, I have corrected this and is now updated in the download. I suggest everyone updates.

Please re-install and it should work.

Thanks, Paul.

No! The PaulSonny website is for our own use, in ordering ect..

That's why we suggest you try this on a test board, and wait for a 'stable' release.

Same issue in 3.6.8 PL2 - no lefthand column in AdminCP for HelpCenter options.
At http://JPiCForum.info/helpcenter.php - there's no option to create new ticket - apparently because I haven't set the options... But there are no options o.O

May need to update the attached zip pack to current please.

Thanx,

Jacquii.

Sorry about this guys, its very difficult for me to judge without actually testing on a proper vBulletin 3.6 Installation, im just relying on knowledge and pretty much guess work.

If anyone is willing to possibly give me admin access to a 3.6 Install I will try my best and update the package.

Thanks, Paul.

Hey PAUL - still no main HelpCenter options in the AdminCP
And now the AdminCP ---> vBulletin Options ---> HelpCenter (shows a blank space)
Then at http://jpicforum.info/helpcenter.php there's no links at all for submitting tickets or even viewing tickets....

Help please :)

Well PAUL.... Install went simple enough - I over wrote the files that had been installed and imported the product with overwrite enabled... Now the AdminCP options show up wonderfully - BUT I don't see any section for adding usergroup permissions?!?!? Is there such a section? So the navigation at http://jpicforum.info/helpcenter.php is missing a few links and is not like the example screenshots posted in the 3.7 thread:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=78864&d=1208398209

Anyway - looking forward to getting this installed and working correctly! I was able to see the departments section and made a few departments without hassle - but when navigating to http://jpicforum.info/helpcenter.php?do=newticket - I see just a permissions error....

Help! :D

Jacquii.

There is no point going to RC stage when it simply isn't ready.

With regards to your problem Jacqui, have you checked under the Usergroup Permissions for the HelpCenter options?

Thanks, Paul.

Um... I do not see any options in the Usergroup Permissions for the HelpCenter at all...

Interestingly weird thing - is that there is a blank set of options (I don't think was there previously) that.........um............see the screenshot:

http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/3693/questionblankoptionca6.gif

Um - could those be the options? There's no text or anything and I'm afraid I just don't know what that is LOL... Help :D

Oh wait! I think I see the options now... There's no text at the top of the box though - and I'm not sure what the hell that blank box of options is?!?!?!? Weird... But yes! I do see ticket permissions...

Testing... YAY! I've tested the 1st Support ticket and it works wonderfully...

I'll have a few questions a little later I'm sure...

Thanx,

Jacquii.

Hello again,

Alot of things messed up because of something I did on the site were I am developing HelpCenter, anyway everything seems to be hopefully (fingers crossed) back in order and all phrases now seem to be back to normal.

Feel free to update with product file.

Thanks, Paul.

Jacqui, does updating with this product file solve your Usergroup blank options for HelpCenter?

Thanks, Paul.

Beta 6 Just Released!

This is going to be the final Beta for HelpCenter, from now it is just going to be bug fixes, if any.

I'm sorry, but for the final time, you are going to have to uninstall any previous version and re-install with Beta 6.

Thanks, Paul.

One suggestion I give is the option to make make all tickets by default open to everyone to see, unless the ticket-opener specifically checks off a checkbox to make it private.

This has been implemented into the latest release. The ticket creator gets to choose whether they want the ticket to be public or private.

Latest screenshots have also been added to this thread.

Thanks, Paul.

Can you also make it so that we can completely disable the public/private button. Can you also add something in the admin CP so that by default we can make ALL support tickets public or private. Then just another option to disable users from being able to use the public/private dropdown. That way if we want them to choose we can enable it and if we just want to choose for them we can.

I like this idea very much - it means the process is an open one and the entire Community can see the resolution...

At anyrate - thanx for the updated versions PAUL - it's working just fine on JPiC - A very fine modification if I do say so myself! Voted MOTM :) = Good luck!

We do not know when the pro version will be ready. It will be ready when it's ready.

Some of the features already are: Attachments, Subscriptions, sensitive data field, ect ect.

TheInsaneManiac, some nice suggestions. However, this will also probably be into the paid version.

We will have updates every now and again, where you can also renew access to the members area to get the latest version ect.

I think for the lite version though - there should definitely be the option to make tickets viewable by all usergroups - just my opinion - It'd be a nice option to have - but definitely there will be others, as well as myself who will be looking into getting the professional version of the HelpCenter once it's made available - but yeah... Definitely the viewable by all usergroups option should be added.

Thanx again for the brilliant share and good luck with the project ;)

Paul thank so much. They were set to open via helpcenter admin BUT when you save it OPEN , it saves closed. There is no way to force it to save as open.

So I uninstalled everything, product and php files. Reupped the files and the product.. no fix it is worse than before, now there is no where to click on at helpcenter.php page to submit a ticket in the left column, even after opening 2 departments which will not save open.

So I uninstalled and reinstalled again. Still the same. All plugin hooks were active. All files uploaded properly and to the right place.

Helpcenter admin settings all on.

I really would like to use this  There must be a glitch in the code somewhere though I'd have no idea where to look.

HelpCenter Gold has arrived!

I have made HelpCenter Gold because there has been no bug reports for over a week. I have fixed some very minor issues with the code, like confirmation screens and a new usergroup permission "Can View HelpCenter".

Please overwrite all existing files and re-import new product file.

Jacquii.

The new version available is the Gold Verison yes :)

I'm not sure about the Pro Version, but we are keeping members informed on the development process.

Price has not yet been decided and unfortunately a definite feature list hasnt been prepared. We were waiting for HelpCenter to become stable before we start work on the Pro Version.

A features that we have talked about if a notification system were you can subscribe to a ticket, very similar to a thread subscription. Attachments has been another issue and I think SPAM control is going to be a feature.

Thanks, Paul.

Sorry about the late response Jacquii, I have been away for bank holiday weekend with my fiancee to celebrate our anniversary.

I changed the bitfield around in the new version, could you possibly try removing the bitfield file and then re-upload it and see if this corrects the error?

Thanks, Paul.

Thanks, Paul.

Aysha? What a beautiful name! I love the spelling...
Anyway - yes - I've installed and it works wonderfully now. I think the issue may have been something else though... I thought I had deleted the files that were part of the earlier HelpCenter - apparently I did not - so I deleted the files via ftp and then simply uploaded the new files, importing the product anew... Worked just fine.

I thank ya for the help and for the beautiful modification.

I have a suggestion though - I've put the forum that posts the original HelpCenter topic in the JPiC Staff Zone. It'd be very interesting to have it so that whenever a Moderator or Admin posts in the Staff Zone thread - that it actually updates the original HelpCenter post with comment as well. Would be a very nice feature IMO.

Anyway - Thanx again = Cheers ;)

OK - You can see the the specific issue at http://jpicforum.info/helpcenter.php?do=ticket&tid=2

The text doesn't seem to parse correctly in the replies. Where the following text is how it should be formatted:

Well - You've started in the right place! Welcome to JPiC :jpicwelcome: -- Navigating the Forum is not as difficult as it may seem upon 1st glance. We have the main navigation bar which allows you to browse most forum features with a simple click or 2 ((see the pic below))

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2008/05/1.gif

We also have a section of JPiC Video Tutorials (http://jpicforum.info/jpic-video-tutorials/) that you may want to watch... The tutorials are in need of update - but they do offer an inciteful look into navigating the forum and performing certain forum procedures.

Finally - As seen in the 2nd pic below - We've made posting on JPiC as easy as a 1-click process.

Any further questions? Feel free to ask right here.

Thanx and Happy posting.

Jacquii.

It always looks like the following when either editing the reply OR simply posting a reply - Looks like the text is scrunched up and the line breaks aren't parsed:

Would love a fix for this issue! Um - you may tell from viewing the JPiC link I provided... I've edited the templates to suit my need. I do not think I've editing anything in particular that would have any influence on how the text is parsed though.

Thanx and I've posted this on PaulSonny.com as well. I'm using vB 3.6.8 PL2 ;)

Kewl! Questions: Which templates have been edited? What (if any) additional features have been added? And has the parse issue above been fixed?

Thanx PAUL!

Here are some things I noticed in addition to some suggestions. I think this is a great system by the way, just needs a few tweaks.

1. The departments show up in the title when you view your own tickets, however it does not show up when you are using the Administrative section. No way to determine which they belong to when your managing tickets.

2 The autothread you can create in a specific forum? I guess its more for alerting you of new tickets, however there doesnt seem to be any connective interaction to those threads and the system. If you wanted to reply on that thread, it should display a reply in the ticket.

Related to Departments
3. The Department should be its own column.

4. You should be able to sort by all columns. (i.e. department column, so if you have different groups managing these different departments, they can sort and easily manage their own.

5 You should have a link on the left listiing each department, so when managing you can just goto the ones related in that specific department.

if your taking feature requests, would be nice to be able to assign certain departments to admins/mods and have them PM'd when a ticket is created, and then be able to "own" a ticket.

I manage about 60 staff on my forums and being able to assign them tickets would help me out a lot.
