View Full Version : Stable 3.7.0 Next Week
vB.Org System
04-18-2008, 01:40 PM
As those of you who have been keeping an eye on the bug tracker will probably be aware, the frequency and severity of bugs being reported has dropped right off in the past few weeks, and I believe that it has reached the point where we should declare vBulletin 3.7.0 stable and do a final, 'gold' release.
vBulletin 3.7.0 Stable/Gold will be released in the coming week.
I do not anticipate the release of any further release candidates in the interim period.
Today, we will be updating vBulletin.com to run the final version of the code, and we will allow this to run over the weekend to get some final, extra uninterrupted testing done on a production site.
Needless to say, should you find more bugs over the weekend, don't hesitate to report them (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/project.php?do=issuelist&projectid=6&issuetypeid=bug) as soon as possible so that we can ensure that next week's release will be one of the best ever.
Until next week!

Nice one, I can't wait.
Such a promising release. :).

Thank you Thank you Thank you!
You folks do an amazing job and vB is worth every penny I pay for it.... every single time. I'm really excited for this as the custom mods/templates should open up the flood gates a bit once it goes "gold".
Cheers!

OK, then its time to update my license :)
Really looking forward to this :)

I still think we should all get vBlog free for helping with bug reports and buying vBulletin. Think it's a bit of a piss take that it's an extra, but that's my view!!
Can't wait for this to come to final Stable release... love it!!

When you have upgrade you get a list of Out-of-Date Custom Templates.
This templates need to be updated or reverted.
If you don't do this some functions will maybe not work.
Updating is very easy because you can compare te new templates with your customer template.

Will 3.6.8 upgrade smoothly with 3.6.8 mods and approved hacks? As members, do we get the upgrade for free to 3.7.0?

It depends on the hack. You would have to ask the authors of the modifications.

Just got one litle question.
Wich i think most here can reply me on. They say we recommend php 5.xxx and mysl 5.xx does that mean that vB 3.7 will still run on older version. I thought i read it somewhere but before i screw myself over i wanted to ask.
Btw reason i can't switch that fast is due to restrictions from other forumboards wich don't run that well on mysql 5.0 so yeah.
If no one has an idea about it then i will just have to test it out and let you people know how it ended ^^
Otherwise just gonna split up my webaccounts. Just to enijoy the new release

Does this mean that Impex will be available? I want to clean my forum from the mods that are running now, and start with a fresh install.
Marco van Herwaarden

A new ImpEx version will probably be released shortly after 3.7 goes gold.
PS This means that it will probably be released within a few days to a few weeks.

As the update says, it will be posted someday this week. The announcement was not announcing the release of vB 3.7. It was just saying that they are doing final testing.

What announcement today? Kier made the announcement on Friday, therefore it is this week. I aren't bothered when it's released, just as long it is bug free hehe.
