Use images as post background?

How would one use a picture like a scroll as the background in posts?:)

Did you try setting a background image in your Main CSS for First Alternating Color? That will do all places where .alt1 is specified. The other way is to add the style to the div tag that surrounds the post text in your postbit (or postbit_legacy).
