There should be a tools.php file in the do not upload directory of the vBulletin file you downloaded to install. I think that is what you upload to the Admin CP and run to give yourself admin privileges again.

go into mySQL on the webCP of your site - browse the VBulletin tables for user - change Usergroupid to the number for admin. I think this would most probably work

How did you fix it? Might be useful if anyone else runs into this same problem. ;)

For anyone else that comes along:
Do not perform direct edits on your vbulletin database, it is not recommended.
(Re: Post #3)
Tools.php is provided for these sorts of problem as given by Boofo in Post #3.

Make sure you remove the Tools.php file now that things are fixed. Never leave that on the server. ;)

another option is to edit you config.php and set yourself as superadmin and on undeletable/unalterable
