See attachments for screenshots. Installation instructions are simple as placing $forumdisplay_stats into your forumdisplay template.

Install Instructions.
1. Download product attached.
2. Login to your adminCP and add the product via the product manager
3. Open your forumdisplay template and add the following code where you want it to appear

$forumdisplay_stats

4. Enjoy the little added feature.

Info: This has 3 plugins, and will create a few additonal queries on forumdisplay pages, though they shouldn't be server intensive.

FAQ

Where is a good place to add the $forumdisplay_stats code?

I've added mine after this code in forumdisplay

</thead>
$forumbits
</table>
<br />

Why is this version Mod Version: .099c

Because that box let me put whatever i wanted in. And that sounded the coolest

What does it do?

This product will let you insert the whats going on box on forumdisplay. Current the only things that will appear are Who's Online, if you have Paul M's users visited in last 24hrs, and the forum stats box.

Why did you make this?

There have been numerous posts, and even paid requests for such a product but I've never seen one released, plus it looks cool on my forums

Will you make me something cool?

No

Can You Release That Awesome Skin?

No and it probably never will be :)
Do you have screenshots?

Yes! See attachments

Can you add users birthdays and events to this?

Perhaps in a future release if there is demand for it.

What If I don't Have Paul M's plugin installed?

Who doesn't these days?! But open up the newly created forumhome_stats template and remove

<!-- Paul M's WHO VISITED TODAY -->
<tbody>
<tr>
<td class="thead" colspan="2">
<a style="float:$stylevar[right]" href="#top" onclick="return toggle_collapse('forumhome_todayusers')"><img id="collapseimg_forumhome_todayusers" src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/collapse_thead$vbcollapse[collapseimg_forumhome_todayusers].gif" alt="" border="0" /></a>
$whotitle
</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
<tbody id="collapseobj_forumhome_todayusers" style="$vbcollapse[collapseobj_forumhome_todayusers]">
<tr>
<td class="alt2"><a href="memberlist.php"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/whos_online.gif" alt="" border="0" /></a></td>
<td class="alt1" width="100%"><div class="smallfont">$whotoday</div></td>
</tr>
</tbody>
<!-- PAUL M WHO VISITED TODAY -->

What If i want to add/remove something else to the block?

Open up the forumdisplay_stats template and modify it as you see fit.

Were all these FAQ neccassary

Probably not, but I see everyone else doing it, and I wanted a long meaningful release thread as well.

The idea seems nice, but how about a bigger screenshot or a working demo?

Wow, this is the first mod that I find really interesting after a long while.
Congrats and thanks!

PS: Perhaps you should add a link to Paul M's hack for 3.7 ;)
PS2: Not installed yet, but definately will in the future.

Basically... what exactly does it add from these on the screenshot?
Only the what's going on box or the things in the sidebar too?

thanks for sharing this,

but I think if you could make one similar but not for all the board, only what's going on in that specific forum and its subforums, I think that will be great...

like THIS (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=178727) one.

thanks..

:)

I was actually thinking about making that when I get time as if we restructure the forums on our social networking site we would find that to be extremely handy.

OK, that will be great because I and my users really like to have some thing like that..

I hope you can code and release it soon

:)

thanks

Its not really working for me. Have got 3.7.2 installed, placed the $forumdisplay_stats at the same place in FORUMDISPLAY you told but nothing happens.

Well the demo shows me a 404 message
The editing of the template shows me "webpage cannot be displayed"
And it doesn't show anything extra on the forum,.
So uninstalled it

Sorry to say so, but thanks for an interesting though annoying evening.

Anyone know if this works with vb 3.8.1 ?

BTW, it does require some template editing and works wonderfully.

This works nice, but it seems to have messed up my "Most users ever online was" portion of the going on box. Both on the index and on the forum display. It will display what ever number that is currently online as the "Most Ever".

I don't see why this should happen, any quick fix?
