Is there a way to prevent users from changing the text of the post they are quoting when the quote someone??

No, I don't think so. Why would anyone change what someone previously wrote if they are quoting it?

The quote becomes part of the new post, like the actual content of it. It is not part of the default vBulletin, I don't know if modifications exist to do what you are asking, there might be a small chance one exists but I haven't come across it.

Sometimes to be funny users will quote another user and chnge the text in quote... I'd like to prevent that if possible.

My users do this all the time when they are in The Lounge. It makes for some very silly threads! (But, they only do it in The Lounge, not in the rest of the site, cuz they know we are serious about keeping our other forums non-silly.)

If they're quoting a previous post in the same thread, I don't see the issue. People can always go back and read what was actually posted.
And if it's to be funny, why take the humor out of your board? People aren't allowed to have harmless fun?
