Currently im looking to learn what the current skin i have, is setup as. I know the pixel with is 983. is there anyway to make this self adapting & not needing a supplied pixel width? what i would like to do is split the current banner into a 3/4 size & have a time delayed rotating banner along the right of it in the remaining 1/4.
If anyone can give me further advice on what routes or modifications i need to perform i would be indebted to them.

Thanks

below is a copy of my current code running under VB ver. 3.6.4

You can change the width of the table in the Admin CP > Styles & Templates > Style Drop-down > Edit Settings.

if i change the width from a pixel number to a Percentage. how will that effect things? & how would i continue from there to divide the top if it was in percentage format

Percentage widths depend on the resolution, but they do what they save basically. So on a big resolution say (2048x1024) they still cover 90% of the screen as they would on a smaller resolution (say 1024x768). Basically it means people with big screens/resolutions have more of their screen dedicated to the site.

If you set a width in Pixels it means that the same number of pixels are occupied on the screen regardless of how big the screen is. So on a big screen it might only take up a small amount of the screen but on a small screen it could be far too big.

Pixels are absolute.
Percentages are relative.
