Care you explain why you chose them and what they offer?

Is it a server, vps or shared you need?
I've had a server from server4you for a couple of years - cheap and nicely set up, plesk etc
I'm thinking of trying out a new server from hostgator though - they are managed and comes bundled with some interesting packages
another interesting one is esecuredata - cheap server, non-existent support

I need to be with someone I can trust to be there when there are issues. The server I am on now I have been with for the last 4 years with a friend of mine but he is moving his site to another server and getting out of the hosting business.

I doubt you'd need the level of support that hostgator seem to provide (judging my your sig anyway)
I'm thinking of trying there as there's only so many tricks an old dog wants like me wants to learn.
Going to keep on with server4you for the forum i have there as they are good value, have reasonably fast support, backups, reboots and i've had few problems with them. That said I'm sure 3.7 is going to make that server look old - maybe use it for mysql or openads
as for esecuredata - if I knew enough about server configuration then I'd go with them.
anyway enough of my rambling! good luck

Well, my site is back up for now but I do need to move, anyway, so any more ideas or suggestions are surely welcome. Trust is the main factor for me.

http://asmallorange.com has wonderful shared hosting if thats what you require, and if any issues arrise i swear their support team will have a answer back to you within 30 minutes, and the problem solved within a couple hours max.
I've never had any large issues with them however, and they've always been the best shared host i've used.

boofo what are your current server stats - will give us a better idea of what you actually need.I myself run on a dedicated server so not worth me saying go with so and so if your specs are actually low.
Also agree asmallorange is a really good host esp if your board is small as i used them for a while but i was told to leave because my board was hogging all the resources from the VPS :)

I have to recommend www.lunarpages.com
There hosting plans, shared especially are very good, and reliable. But, the reason I would recommend them is for their support. Truly amazing!
Well, I haven't had any problems so far.

That is what all the LOGD servers use. A lot of kids there.

Yes, well they should have -- they did do a lot of advertising on my space :p
Anyway, I think they are a good host. When the time comes for a dedicated server, I'll be going with The Planet!
Regards Jason :)

I'm super happy with PowerVPS, and am not looking forward to the day that I outgrow them (which is coming soon, I fear).
They're great though, and the support is top-notch.

I use Westhost dedicated servers and am very happy, my forums are fast, you have 100% control over php config and Apache config as well.
Service is fabulous. I typically have 170+ users logged on at any one time, to give you a feel for my traffic.

I suggest moving to softlayer.com dedicated servers when that day comes, the guys there are equally as awesome as powerVPS :D

I will say HostMonster.com, due to the costumer service [proved for 1 year] and it's ranked on the Top ten 'out there'

no more need to suggest him anything, thread can be closed...
btw, this turned out to be another thread where everybody suggest any kind of host for no reason... come on, be inventive, give REASONS, not just urls...
