This is going to sound totally stupid, but how do i create a home page?
I cannot seem to even find a tutorial.

Well you can try vbAdvanced or vBPortal (http://www.phpportals.com/index.php) or vbIndex (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=59524)

These are simple homepage/portal systems.
