Howdy!

Is there a way to post images so they sit along side text? Right now, you can put images above or below text but for my tutorials (http://www.pc101.com/forum/f18/burn-photo-cd-dvd-4407/), I think it would look better if I could make the images smaller and have them sit beside the text. Something like this...

Is it possible? :)

Yes I wish someone could tell me how to do this as well, especially for article writing.

Easy. All you have to do is make a bbcode tag to do it. ;)

I use a [float=left|right] tag.

The text doesn't wrap right with that, does it?

Sure does. :)

By the way, I love your signature!

[gwb@whitehouse ~]# /usr/bin/war-on-terror --start

Does it work on the album pictures?

And thanks for the sig comment. I have had that forever it seems. ;)

I'm not sure. I don't have a copy of 3.7 to test with. I imagine it would: my tag just expands to <span style="float:{option}">{param}</span>. Any inline-level elements within it should float properly.

Block-level elements probably would too but the HTML would be invalid. I'm tempted to call that a limitation of the vBcode system since you can cause the same issue with built-in tags too.

It should be the same on 3.7 as it is on your version. Image links with image files work fine but linking to an album pic doesn't work as it uses this:

picture.php?albumid=1&pictureid=1

I'm almost betting it won't work with the float tag either. Like you said, a limitation.

You can set whether or not img tags allow dynamic URLs in the admin control panel (vBulletin Options|Message Posting and Editing|Allow Dynamic URL for [IMG] Tags).
The float tag just goes around the img tag.

Unless I misunderstand you.

Ah, so my tags will work with the 'Allow Dynamic URL for [IMG] Tags' turned on?

Yeah.

Actually, yours probably aren't even covered by that setting at all.
