Hey there,

I think i have found a bug in vBulletin 3.7 beat 6. Right, well basically i have my forum, and i have a tutorial section that is a category with many different sub categories underneath it.

This tutorials category is set to active = off, so that if the url is known it can be active (so it can become a tutorials section to my site). Here is the url...

http://www.kedoa.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=46

Now you see there that there are 4 threads in the PHP & MySQL category. But when you click on the Web Development category it says that the last post was never, and the threads and posts are all set to 0, even though there are 4 threads in the PHP & MySQL category. Check it out...

http://www.kedoa.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=48

Then click on the PHP & Mysql category and all the threads are there.

So is this a bug? Basically its not counting the threads and posts in every subcategory in my tutorials category?

It only doesnt count the threads and posts if the main forum category (in my case tutorials), has active set to off. If active is on then it counts them fine.

Is this a bug?

You need to post over at vbulletin.com, if it is confirmed a bug, then the bug needs to be submitted there as well.

test it out on your default skin and with all plugins disabled before submitting it.

Ok yeh. Tried it with the default vBulletin skin with no plugins and it is still displaying no thread count or any posts.

Shall i submit it as a bug over at vbulletin.com

??

Also, bradley_wint, if you say you have tested it, can you give me the url fr me to see?

main site ... www.level2gaming.com

let's take the Gaming Category. you can see all the posts.

when i click the category name, http://www.level2gaming.com/forumdisplay.php?f=4 .. they are still listed correctly in terms of posts/threads etc.

Yeh but the gaming category isnt hidden is it?

Change it so that the main gaming category is not active, so its still there are the url, but it doesnt display on the forum then check it.

Plus even if you did hide the gaming category, posts would still be displayed. Its another level down that they are not being counted. So in your case it would be the console gaming category...

http://www.level2gaming.com/forumdisplay.php?f=16

So set the main gaming category to hidden (active is off), then go to...

http://www.level2gaming.com/forumdisplay.php?f=16

And tell me if no posts are counted.

Ah yes you are right...all my posts went to 0 when i hid it...definitely a flaw.
