about upgrade

hello im using vbulletin 3.6.8 version,and i want upgrade my forum to vb.3.7 version.
befire that i have been modificated my skin,the question is if im doing an upgrade for my vbulletin.
will my modification skin get lost?
if yes,how to make my skin modification not lost,if i upgrade to the new version?

Well you can back up your template if you like ...but 3.7 templates are slightly different since they have newer add-ons (resulting in newer templates)....

okay i know,but how about vb3.6.8 friend before that im using vb.3.6.8 version. i must reinstall it or what i must to do?
i must backup my template ? do u know where i can find for backup my template?
