View Full Version : Akismet anti-spam filter not working in 3.7

Hi folks,

I was under the impression that 3.7 comes with anti-spam functionality, but when I enabled the Akismet anti-spam filter in beta 5 by going into vBulletin options, providing a Wordpress API ID, and setting the threshold to a large number, 3.7 nevertheless fails to filter content.

Is there some trick to getting it to work?

I am under the impression that for 3.6, there is a plugin for this. I have not tried using that plugin under 3.7 as an alternative solution.

It works fine for me. I had it go off like crazy the other night. I had it set to 0.

Nope, not that I know of. Set it to 0 and all posts will be scanned for SPAM.

This is very strange. Not only does Aksimet not work, but I tried SpamBuster and that has no effect either.

Perhaps my test posts are just not spammy enough.

Can someone provide an example spam that will surely trigger Aksimet?

Did you set it to 0 and try it??? It works fine on my site. I had to disable it as it was working too good.

Oh yes, I set it to 0.

But note what it says:
This setting controls how many of a user's posts will be scanned by the Anti-Spam Service. Once a user's post count exceeds this threshold, his or her posts will not be scanned for spam content.

After the threshold is reached, his or her posts will not be scanned for spam content...

So I also tried setting it to 999, but again nothing was apparently scanned.
