how can i modify my forum to have the "Quick reply...." button copy the post w/ quotes into the quick reply box.

and then either to remove the "Quote message in reply?" option or to have it auto-checkboxed?

Some modification of the Quick Reply button's code (could) possibly automatically check the box. I haven't the time to check it out though.

it was requested numerous of time, but nobody created that hack publically.. i suppose someone is waiting to be paid for that, because it is quite complexe...

TBH, you don't really want to mess with vBulletin's JS. Last time I had a look, it was a mess, lol.
