Send an SMS from your forum?

I've been looking into this but not found anything concrete yet.

We've all seen the websites that allow you to send an SMS text to a mobile phone for free.

I would like a page on my forum that offers this service (for FREE).

Does anyone know of a working example or where I could get more information?

I thought someone might have had experience with this.

I found a few solutions but nothing concrete, I'll post up if I get something sorted.
