I recently installed 2 modifications, for my vBulletin 3.6.8 forum.

- User group color bar.

- CYB Chat box

I set them up, everything worked great. However, when I went to go change a color for a usergroup, in the usergroup manager, once I clicked update I was brought to a Database Error screen.

There's a yellow box with the follow inside....

You uninstalled a modification and forgot to remove its *.xml files.

I assume a hack that goes by vBCredits?

You uninstalled a modification and forgot to remove its *.xml files.

I didn't, maybe one of my other Administrators did, as far as I know none of them have. Could you be a little bit more broad on what your explanation was? All I did was install these 2 mods, then after User Group Manager, doesn't work when I try to UPDATE a user groups settings?

And yes I have vBCredits, should I uninstall that?

I would really appreciate an immediate answer.

Please remove the vBcredits

I removed the vBCredits, as well as everything from the FTP involving vBCredits. And I still get the error...

Did you uninstall it or just remove the files?

Mag1c

Both, I cna't figure out what's wrong.

The error tells you. The mgc_cb_evo_permissions column is causing the problem.

Do this, reinstall the vBCredits, and remove it properly. This way, it will rebuilt anything that is going wrong. Once it's rebuilt, go to the ACP and remove them from there. Disable it first, then remove it, and finally, remove it from FTP.

I've done literally everything you've said about the vBCredits, even the template edits. But, I still get the error. HOWEVER! Through this process there's this box, that I've come across numerous times when trying to update my member settings. It's sitting here empty with no text, no nothing...

Cause of my problem?

If so, how do I remove this?

Depends what kind of hack that was before.

That is most likely the xml file that you didnt remove thats part of mgc's chatbox and is why those blank options are still in the usergroup options.

I don't believe mgc_cb_evo_permissions is a vBCredits column.

Could you please post the hacks you have installed and the contents of your includes/xml folder?

I installed the following hacks, RIGHT after the installation of them, I received those errors.

- Cyb Chat box

- Members who have Visited

- User group Color Legend, but I've removed it from my Plugins & Products.

I would suspect: Cyb Chat box

Its because you didnt uninstall it correctly and you havent removed all the files from the hack.

What do you mean I didn't uninstall it correctly? I just clicked uninstall... Unless you have to disable it first.

So, what..

Do I have to RE INSTALL it and make everything work, disable it, then uninstall it?

Follow instructions people give you...

I've followed the instructions everyone in this thread has given me.. And I keep saying, it's not working.

I think it would be best to just submit a ticket to vBulletin's support.

Since I've tried everything, everyone has said.

Read what I quoteed and do what I said in the bold... I quoted it for a reason!

vBulletin.com most likely won't help you as you have installed modifications, i.e. changed the code and so invalidated the support.

I can try to help you. Do you have MSN?

I had an issue like this before.

This is caused by a stray bitfield_*.xml file located in /includes/xml. Please post all the hacks you have ever installed and the contents of that folder.

I've fixed the same problem by going to my forum's \includes\xml and removing two of this files related to chatbox evo:

bitfield_mgc_cb_evo.xml
&
cpnav_mgc_cb_evo.xml

Even that I've uninstalled the chatbox, these files weren't automatically removed.
This fixed the problem once I've logged in to my administration panel again.
I hope this helped.

Files can not be automatically removed. You have to delete them manually.
