Difference bet members and active members

I would like to know what's the difference betweent members and active members

active members are members who post

members = total amount of registered users in your forum from the start/install

active members = members that are active on your forums for the past amount of time set in your admincp options.

don't think they actually have to post to be 'active' just log on
