The problem with the the various media player hacks is I have to upload videos elsewhere.
How do I take an HD video and make it appear in a post so it is exclusive to the community and people would have to register to see it?
Then how should the video file be saved and how do I deal with people not on Macs as far as how to stream it for all?
Thanks!

use the goldbrick one can play almost everything and set the permission to all you want to see it (so not unregistered/non logged in)

But that wont work as it only links to other sites. If they take videos down then your links are trashed. ;) You are not in control of the content with those type of addons.

I'm using AME successfully with flash videos hosted on my own servers.

<font color="darkgreen">But the way it is written it appears to be very vulnerable to scripting attacks. Looks like it also uses bb code to embed the players but I havent looked at all the code.</font>

AME says it can handle wmv or QT files? That way I wouldn't have to convert to flash?

<font color="darkgreen">No you wouldnt but then you are also increasing your disk storage need expotentially and not to mention the bandwidth too. The more time spent serving video streams because of large files means more members/guests will be streaming at the same time, producing a higher resource drain and slowing things down.</font>
