This mod adds a pretty group of icons (Silk Icons (http://www.famfamfam.com/lab/icons/silk/)) to your usercp navigation bar items.

Install Instructions:

Installation for White Styles (Like vB Default Style)
1. Upload the "usercp_icons" folder into your current style images/misc dir.
2. Import product-iconsusercp.xml in the Product Manager.
3. That's all :)

Installation for Dark Styles (PNG Icons with Transparency)
1. Upload the "usercp_icons_png" folder into your current style images/misc dir.
2. Import product-iconsusercp-png.xml in the Product Manager.
3. That's all :)

IMPORTANT: These PNG icons will not display correctly if you're using Internet Explorer 5.5 or 6. For fix this transparency issue check this mod by Oblivion Knight:

Where do you set the color for the rows?!

The colors of the rows are style defined, in vBulletin default skin, will see like the image in the first message, but in any other skin, will be diferent... according to the CSS style of the skin :)

well, its pretty simple;

new links in the stock UserCP are added through Jelsoft changing the template.


you have modified the template, so after an update the function 'find updated templates' returns the usercp_shell template as a template that needs to be edited or reverted.

if you do neither, the new links will not show, the icons stay where they are.

if you revert, the links show, but the icons disappear.

if you want both, you have to start editing (or wait for the update in this thread)



to have the new links showing through editing yourself, you would have to:

- find appropriate icons to display with the new link.

- upload the icon file to the misc folder

- add the code for the new link to your existing (modified) template, and mirror the selection of the image from the other entries in the template.

Almost, but your png edit took away the default collapse/expand gifs. This will work with the default collapse gifs and the fam silk pngs.

I've just imported this hack in 3.7 RC 1, and it's completely destroyed the database.

Further: After installing the hack on 3.7 RC1, the whole database ceased to work properly. I then uninstalled the hack, but the problem remained.

At present, the only way I can get my board to function at all is to completely disable the plugins system altogether (via editing config.php and adding define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);).

I've managed to locate part of the problem, which is a conflict with the 'Notification of New PMs and Reputation' Hack. The two appear to conflict and cause the issue.

Rather, the conflict is with the older PM viewing enhancements hack. Since this new hack does some of the same things, having both together causes a conflict. Once I removed that older hack, this one works fine. Many thanks. And 'whew'.

I note one bit that could be improved: in the section for PMs, the tree lists the inbox and 'sent items', but does not list any custom folders when they are present (as the old Enhanced UserCP used to do). Any chance this could be added?

You need to upload the entire folder "usercp_icons" into the current style images/misc folder.

figure out what images you want and upload them to the same directory as the others.

the code structure is going to be the same as what i gave for anything your adding (i.e. if conditonal if appropriate, plus the table markup).

figure out where it goes, but in the case for the blog, you'll be looking in the blog templates, for the blog_usercp_nav_link template. i don't have project tools installed, but assume it has a similar template for usercp links with it. since it's not stock vb, it's not included in the shell icons template.

correction- after looking at this, the blog link is a category header. i would look in the new template provided by this hack to see the difference between category headers and subsequent items, and copy that code. don't have the time now to figure it out, but you should be able to sort it out reasonably easily, now you know where to look.

review your usercp_shell template, and see where those options were added or called. either by the product or your edits installing the product. (don't use it, so i can't say.) you'll have to recreate those options in your usercp_shell_icons template, the one installed by this mod, most likely.

At first, I uploaded the ICONS into the actual images/misc folder and then re-read it. I was missing the ICONS and started to scratch my head until I read....upload the "folder" into the images/misc folder. Sheesh. :)

Such a great product and such a pity that other MODs do not interface with it (such as SMS, Extra Profile Page, and more).

It obviously has to do with using a whole different template while other mods are geared to modify the default template.

I have found that , Byusing this hack, we must upload the usercp_icons folder in the misc directory of the style, So by this If we are changing the style of the site we must upload the usercp_icons Folder again in the misc folder of newly installed style..



To avoid this problem I have changed the source of the .XML

By using this attached file you only upload the usercp_icons Folder in the images folder only, So any change in new style of the site does not effect the site..

Got it working for the SMS Capabilities Addon. Upload the attached 'phone.png' to the directory: images/misc/usercp_icons_png. This will work for GIF's too, just change the code to reflect the standard gif folder for the images. You will also have to convert the phone.png attachment to a .gif file.

Sure. The basic idea is to just add this code to every vbmenu_option you want to show an icon:

... where your image selection replaces "**image_goes_here**", obviously. For example, if you want to edit the Quick Links menu then edit the navbar template. The first item in the menu is "Today's Posts".

The bolded part is what was added and it has "page_white_copy.png" because that's the famfamfam silk icon I chose to represent "Today's Posts"; you might want to use something else. Obviously each of the icons you use has to be uploaded to images/misc/usercp_icons.

You repeat this for each instance and you can do this for literally every drop-down menu option, which is what I have for all of my navbar and for every other drop-down. I've attached an image of my search and PM drop-downs as other examples. It might be overkill for other people but I like how it looks. :)

One thing to note is that if you have any modifications that automatically insert menu options on your navbar or in the Quick Links menu then you need to add the icon code to those also. For example, if you have vB Blog and you opt for a link in your navbar, this is the blog_navbar_link template:

Obviously you need to first upload the appropriate famfamfam silk icons to a folder called usercp_icons in images/misc. It should then look like the attachment. Yes.No the modification does nto work fully with 3.8.x series. The profile link is missing. I filled out a support ticket on VB.com and this modification was the problem.
