It's a couple of simple edits. Have you tried it on 3.7? I can't see why it wouldn't work.

tried it on the carbon 2 theme and got nothing :(

It worked perfectly for me on my test board running 3.7. Perhaps you are using the postbit template on your site and you only edited the postbit_legacy one? I don't know, but it's two simple steps and it works just fine.
