k this is what my website looks like...
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2008/02/29.jpg
and it seems like its too flat and boring and needs to look more animated.

I saw this site
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2008/02/30.jpg
In the red area, is there a code to make mine look like that. I really like that striped look/gloss look.
Thanks:D

You should make a request in your photoshop forum for someone to make an image gradient to be used as your category strip. :) If you look at the ones here, you can probably use the size of it and then just change your CSS for the strips to use the new one. Here is vb.orgs: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/images/cstyle/blue/tcat.jpg

Add something like this to Category Strips - Background instead of just the color:
#XXXXXX url(images/misc/tcat.gif) repeat-x top left

For the background color (XXXXXX), use the color that is at the lowest point of your gradient.

Here's my code for those rows:

<tr><td height="20" colspan="6" style="background-image:url(/forum/images/gradient_thead.gif)">

And the image I made:

Link in sig as to how it looks. :) I edited the actualy FORUMHOME template, but Damian's method is cleaner.

I tried this but it doesnt work for me, I made a back ground I would like to use, would anyone be able to tell me how to add it to my site.

You will need to edit the .tcat value (Category Strips) in the Style Manager

more info about the Style Manager can be found in the vBulletin Manual (http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/main/stylemanager_css)

Can someone please explain to me in detail what I need to do to make this as my category strip? I am just not good with theses things...Follow this chain:

AdminCP
Styles & Templates
Style Manager
Go (for All Style Options in the style you are changing)
Category Strips (look at the titles of the major boxes)
Standard CSS options

In the Background box, remove what is there and paste this:

#000000 url(http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j304/gossennator/The%20337/site_bg_eg-1.jpg) repeat-x top left

Save
Enjoy :)
