View Full Version : Wondering if There is a Hack For This

I've done some searching and I can't find any hack that does what I'm asking - although maybe I wasn't using the best terms to search for it.

In any case, I need to know if there is a hack (or an option) that will only show a moderator as a moderator in the postbit if the moderator is a one for that forum. So in other words, I don't want a moderator to be shown as a moderator in the postbit, unless they are a moderator for that forum. Get it?

Is there any way that I can accomplish this without a hack, and if not, then is there a hack already out for this?

Thanks,
Ben

Umm, this is a default option for vB. It automatically displays the moderator for a forum below the postbit?

That's not what I meant.

I mean, I'd like to have it display the Moderator rank on moderators when members browse the posts of forums that they actually moderate. Normally, it's displayed in all posts of all forums.

For instance, if Bob was a member of "General Discussions," I would only want Bob to show as a moderator in posts within that forum. In posts of every other forum, I would like Bob to be shown as a regular member.

Get the idea?

To clarify, you're talking about their member title?

Well, I mean their rank...

Basically, I have rank images set up for postcount amounts and staff ranks. For instance, the Moderator rank goes to members in Usergroup "Moderators" and the Display Type is "If Displaygroup = This Group."

In the "Moderators" usergroup settings, it's also set to give them the User Title "Moderator."

So I guess it's basically both the User Title and rank. Maybe if the postbits didn't think of them in the usergroup "Moderators," unless they actually moderated that forum, it would solve this, but I have no idea about how to do that.

You'll have to wrap a conditional around it in the postbit template. Using "can_moderate()".
