cChatBox - AJAX-based ChatBox for vBulletin 3.6.8 & 3.7.x

Features:
Enable / Disable ChatBox
Select if unregistred user can use or only show the chat.
Ban Usergroup/Users from AdminCP
Set Height of ChatBox
Set Name Of BOT
A BOT that answer when use a "action" or "command".
The Number of message to be displayed is not influenced by messages of BOT because some mess of bot are visualizable only by who have used the "action" or "command".
Command for users: /me /myip (show your ip, only you see) /stats (show statistics of chatbox)
System of "Action" for Admin or other usergroup that you set in AdminCP.
List of "Action": /help /topic /listaction /say /mute /unmute /lunarize /unlunarize /kennylize /unkennylize /removeactions /delmess /deleteall
Into AdminCP you can select the allowed action.
The Administrator by default can use the "Action"
A Topic that is displayed at right of title "cChatBox". Can set Topic via AdminCP or with Action /topic <message>
Select the Allowed BBCode into AdminCP.
Into AdminCP can select the usergroup can edit/delete all messages and if users can edit/delete their own message.
Can select if show the ChatBox on template FORUMDISPLAY (Forum List) or SHOWTHREAD (Thread List) and the Position.
Can Enable the Users List at right of ChatBox
Send Private Message from the menu of Users List.
Select if display (on Users List) all user logged or only who have write on ChatBox and set the Width.
Double Click on messages for display the Editor for Edit/Delete message.
Editor with image of the style: Bold, Italic, Underline, Color, Smilie, URL, IMG & Remove Text Formatting
vBMenu Popup for: Color, Smilie & Fonts.
Border of Editor image change color when select (highlight) / deselect (default).
Statistics of ChatBox is only visible by command "/statistics", show: Tot Mess, Your Mess & Top 5
Can delete all message (action: /deleteall) for clear chatbox or database and not lose statistics.
This "Action" affect the message of users: /mute (Mutes user) /lunarize (User talk funny) /kennylize (Message will be affected)
If you can use "Action" the /help command retrieve the list of "Action" allowed, else show you the list of command.
Can enable and insert a "Announce" and show it below chatbox.
Select various tag for the username.
The cChatBox is disponible in 2 language: English or Italian.
ChatBox and Users List are autorefresh
Select if use the class "smallfont" for the text of ChatBox
Preview of smilies into popup

Download the file "product-cchatbox-1.4.1_eng.zip" if you use English language on your forum, if you use Italian language download the file "product-cchatbox-1.4.1_ita.zip".
Upload file 'cchatbox.php', directory 'includes' and directory 'clientscript' into forum root.
Import XML File: AdminCP -> Plugin System -> Manage Products -> Add / Import Product
Go into: "AdminCP -> vBulletin Options -> cChatBox" and set options for the ChatBox.Note:

This product is compatible with vbulletin 3.6.8 and 3.7.x.
I have tested only with this version of vbulletin.

I've write also a little tool for convert the statistics of VBSHOUT for the cChatBox! You can find in the directory: "not upload/tool_cchatbox.php".
Use of this tool: Upload file "tool_cchatbox.php" in the root directory of forum and start the script only if you have installed the product cChatBox.


ATTENTION:

If you update from the version 1.0 or 1.0.1 you must delete all messages with the command /deleteall, because in the new version the "userid" of BOT is different.

Now i work for version 1.0.2 where add the option "send private message" in menu when click on user on users list, and fix some problem.

nice little system, it's already a hit on our board. One feature request though... can you make it check for actions/commands before applying them? I kennylized myself playing around and had to get someone else to undo it because it wouldn't recognize the command.

eheeh if you kennylized yourself you are crazy lol ok... if you are kennylized / lunarize / mute and can use action, if use action for unmute / unlunarize / unkennylized this action work. i make this on next version ;)

It's true, not necessary all, but add "displaygroupid" the need this when you select secondary group and you view the usergroup secondary and not primary.

damn... probably is the position of LEFT JOIN... because " LEFT JOIN usergroup AS usergroup USING (usergroupid)" don't found the usergroupid column on the table "session or cchatbox".

i not receive this error and can't try if this solution work or not... i attach the file "functions_cchatbox.php" download it and upload into directory "includes".

The error on page shows up in the lower left corner of the Internet Explorer window. It doesn't seem to effect anything, and it shows only when the chat is turned on. I never noticed it since I use Firefox, but one of the forum members pointed it out last night.

Download the new functions file, in post 56 above, and replace it. I had the same problem and that fixed it.

Uploaded the new file. It seems to have fixed the problem. I'm not getting any error messages from the server.

I would suggest adding your copyright and allowing the change from cchatbox JMO of course. In case I decide to add this to my site can you explain what the first c stands for in cchatbox?? I'm sure someone on my board will ask why chat is spelled with 2 c's. Nice work BTW :)

Yeah I agree with the above. Thats a title, not a copyright. It should be editable by users. Now it looks like an advertisement and decreases the look of my forum skin, cause honestly what user's going to come up and say "hey look he's using cchatbox!"? Im gonna get about a million "wtf is cchatbox" PM's. IMO

I really would look into changing that. But great job on the shout box, this one is the best I've seen.

I love this plugin. I clicked installed, and will nominate it for mod of the month. It looks great. It fits right in with my forum theme, and it works. I had been looking for a good real-time chat program for my website for a long time.

EDIT: Seems to be a hit with the members so far. I'm still working out the kinks, but even with the occasional anomaly it's working great. Just fine tuning the options.

You need to use an FTP program to upload your files, there are tons of free ones to choose from (I'm currently using FileZilla), or if you use cpanel with your host (or a control panel of some kind) you should be able to upload the files via your file manager in the hosts control panel.

If you're unfamiliar with FTP, read this. I was trying to find a tutorial over here, but I apparently fail at searching.

Regarding the too many connections -Im using this on a test site, im the only user that has access!

Ive had to uninstall it for now, hopefully these issues can be resolved as it looks like the making of a very good chatbox.

My host deactivated my cchatbox....they sent me this:


Upon a recent check on our pandora server, we have been forced to disable your script at /home/XXXXXXXXXXXXX/public_html/forums/cchatbox.php. This script had roughly around 40-45 incoming apache connections (at any given time), having an adverse effect on the load and, therefore, impacting the otgher servers from our shared server.

After we have disabled your script, the load on the server dropped from a dangerous value of 14-16 to a much safer 5-6.

Please consider adjusting your scripts so that such issues will not reoccur, as your account is currently using (mainly due to the disabled scripts) an average of 15% from the entire CPU power, which is an unnacceptable value for a shared environment.

Thank you for your attention on this important matter.

I have a problem in firefox using this when I want to change the font colour.

I go to click on a font colour it then loads up a blank white page and I have to press the back arrow key to reload the forum homepage then I can type in the font I chose.

Checked it in IE7 and it works as intended.

however you need to modify the php file "funcionts_cchatbox.php" and search:

delete or modify this code.

i not have test my chat on forum with a huge number of user... one good thing is disable the Users List if you have many user online.

Hi, very nice product (ottimo lavoro) but I think to rest in guideline with a new CSRF Protection, you need to add in the cchatbox.php these lines:

Make user names colored?
Make so the font, color, etc.. saves so you dont have to reselect every time you leave the page and come back?
How do i make it so the cursor stays in the box so i dont have to click in the message box after every message i send. (IE, works fine with FF2)

found a bug. if you open the front page on two tabs or windows. and log out of one of them and use the other window to send messages.
messages are sent as "Unregistered" and users are crusing one another out this way :/

I'm looking for a private moderators only chat add-on, but one which is like a chat room. Whenever a moderator writes something it should pop out to every other moderator, that is online and vice versa. It is needed for better collaboration between moderators so everyone agrees with a certain course of action being chosen. It would be advantageous to have the option to sign in the chat, to show that they are available as moderators. Maybe something like the one in facebook, but for more than 2 persons. I believe permissions will be based on usergroups, so having the same one for regular users will be good too.

I looked through the available ones, but the choice is big and I'm probably not even getting the full list with the search term "chat"

Why are the latest Posts in the Chatbox on the Bottom of the list and I have to scroll back up, since its usually the other way around. Because we you load the site with this Chatbox, the scrollbar is also up and since on top are not the latests shouts, people have to already scroll down just to see the latest shouts.

Why not just put the latest on top ?
