Fake members??

I get quite a lot of fake members on my site which i dont really want, most of them dont actually post anything, but i just dont want them im trying to make my Forum as genuine as possible

for example a user will create a name like aswanqvex, dezabwe etc...something that just dosent look real and when i check on them the IP address are sometimes multiples,and there all from the same place katowitz or somewhere.

Anyway ive just been deleting them daily, is there a mod that can stop these fake users from registering in the 1st place, as deleting them is becoming a bit of a pain

This is part of your admin duties - nothing is completely automated.

You can try..

Confirming all email - If not confirmed within a period of time you can prune them via User Moving/Pruning System. (Instead of deleting one by one.)

You can also ban the IP (a bit extreme).

Thanks Princeton, ive set up email auenthentication, ie: They have to follow the link before they are registered but quite a few are still registering, i was just wondering if a mod existed to help with these types of users and if it was quite common

I installed Is Bot: Registration Time Check (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=135094) and since then I've hardly had any of these 'fake' users register.
