View Full Version : Unstable cookies timeout

Hello,

I've adjusted the cookies to timeout after 2 hours:

(vbulletin options ==> cookies and HTTP header options ==> session timeout ==> 7200 sec.)

Sometimes it works fine, and most of the times when I log to my forum before this period expires,

I find that I'm the only (visitor), and all the users who were recently online had gone offline.

"Path to save cookies" is set to (/), and "Cookie domain" is set to (blank),

and I tried all the alternative options for both to fix the problem but it didn't work out.

(Note: I knew that some members use the "remember me" option).

Hope to find an explanation for that.

Thanks in advance :)

It has been so boring for me and for the members to be logged out automatically after few minutes,

i.e not as admin's settings in the vbulletin C.P options regarding the session timeout

It seems that there's no solution for such a serious annoying defect !

Hope to find a vbulletin product with clear solutions for such common problems soon.

Regards :)

I tried with the test account you sent me in PM, but when i login with or without the remember me option, the list of online users looks good.

Please provide instructions to replicate the behaviour you are describing.

Mr. Marco,

Thanks for your kind care.

As I said before, sometimes it works fine, like it does at this moment,

and many times the 2 hour period I set for timeout is not working.

Meaning, I log on with admin account, some members log on after I do,

and after some 10 minutes, all the users are logged off including me

and I find only 1 visitor online. This regularly occurs with other members as well.

Many thanks once again for your time. :)

I have never heard of such problem and i could not reproduce the problem.

I suggest you use the Remember Me, least chance for cookie problems.
