Ok, sorry if this is in the wrong section or even a stupid question, but i am a newb to this game so please bare with me.

I run a vbulletin forum, the site is growing slowly, but not being picked up by google which sucks im supposing it will take time.

Anyway im trying to install some mods particularly ad banner mods, anything that will help with seo etc...my problem is i am an absolute beginner to installing mods, i get as far as my site cp and it all looks like japanese, ive got a administrator who is pretty good at that sort of thing but i would like to be able to do some mods myself.

Can anyone help me with the basics of how to install new mods/features on my site, i need a laymens guide really, or if this has already been addressed in another thread point me in the right direction

Much help appreciated

It all depends on what version of vb you are running and what mods you are talking about. Most good mods will be a product you import, change a few settings to your taste for the mod and that is it.

The latest version is 3.7.0 beta 4. There is no version 3.8 yet. ;)

I haven't looked at the rotating banner mod. Have you posted for help in the thread for that mod?

It should be the same thread you downloaded the mod from. ;)

Most of the modifications I've downloaded have a readme file in the zip file you download. In that readme are usually detailed steps on how to install, configure and use the modification.

Some readme files don't mention where you can configure the MOD, in this case it's usually mentioned in the main modification description post, or a few posts below
