Download Box BBCode

There are thousands of forums where we can find thousands of links. I saw this hack in a website, but wasn't vBulletin :(, that's why I've created this. You put your links and the bbcode add a nice links box. Just take a look to the screenshot :)

This is my first mod, so... any suggestions will be great!

Install Instructions

1. Download the zip, extract it and upload the images to "images/misc/" folder in your forum.
2. Go to AdminCP ? Custom BB Codes ? Add New BB Code

Title: Download Box
Tag: down
Replacement:<table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
<tr>
<td height="39" colspan="3">
<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
<tr>
<td width="113" background="images/misc/down1.gif" height="39">
&nbsp;</td>
<td background="images/misc/down2.gif">&nbsp;</td>
<td width="48" background="images/misc/down3.gif" height="39">
&nbsp;</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td bgcolor="#C0DDFF" width="10">&nbsp;</td>
<td bgcolor="#C0DDFF">
<table border="1" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" style="border-collapse: collapse; border: 1px solid #007FD8" bgcolor="#FFFFFF">
<tr>
<td style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px; color: #707070; text-align: center">
<p style="margin: 5px">{param}</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
<td bgcolor="#C0DDFF" width="10">&nbsp;</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td colspan="3">
<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
<tr>
<td background="images/misc/down4.gif" height="11" width="11">
<img border="0" src="images/misc/space.gif" width="1" height="1"></td>
<td bgcolor="#C0DDFF" height="11">
<img border="0" src="images/misc/space.gif" width="1" height="1"></td>
<td background="images/misc/down5.gif" height="11" width="11">
<img border="0" src="images/misc/space.gif" width="1" height="1"></td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
Example: http://www.your-link.com
Description: Put your link(s) in a custom box.
Use {option}: No
Button Image: images/misc/down-button.gif

3. That's all!

NOTE: If you want this mod in other colors, just ask for them. :D

First, the option "Automatically parse links in text" MUST be cheked.

Second, by default if the BBCode look this:

http://www.vbulletin.org

You will get the dead link. BUT if look like this:

http://www.vbulletin.org

The link will be automatically converted to url :)

Just one space between the "]" and the link.

now i have one more thing to ask... i got the space after the "]" now is there a way to automatically input the space.. or do the user have to add the space to keep the link alive.

Do you mean all link are unclicleable?

your first one is a dead link...... is there a way to put a space in the field so you don't have to put it manually... This is a pain to keep telling the user to do... after that the rest of the links are alive.. which is okay... but it would be nice to have it either way.. all links alive or dead..
thanks..

Well, the first link ... don't really know, but I can't make that the first link become clicleable... only putting a space between the ] and the url.

If you want all the link are unclicleable just unmark the vbulletin option: "Automatically parse links in text" (in Additional Options).

To make this pro you should see if you can allow this to not parse links or trunctuate ;)

This is a nice addon, but can be done without the DL box, but I like it.

Tip:

After you hit the http://bigsite.biz/images/down-button.gif then hit your space bar, you can then hit https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2009/12/3.gif , add url to download hit ok, With the text still highlighted, type in what the download is....repeat these steps for many downloads....looks better then a url. I even color coded each word.
Example:
VB (http://vbulletin.org)
VB-1 (http://vbulletin.org)
VB-2 (http://vbulletin.org)
VB-3 (http://vbulletin.org)
VB-4 (http://vbulletin.org)
VB-6 (http://vbulletin.org)

End result:

In the Additional Options at the bottom of the new post, there is an "Automatically parse links in text" checkbox. Just make sure that is unchecked. No code knowledge needed. ;)

Why not just make it a Password box instead as ZIP files can have passwords, too.

rar pass the one what i was needed :D

thats why i could not think about zip or all the other archive formats

but u can just edit the image file in "paint" and delete "rar"
