View Full Version : Edit subject of new post/thread notification?

Currently, I have a handful of members who receive a notification when new posts are made in a certain forum. The subject simply lists the name of the site and the forum in which the post was made.

What would be really helpful is if I could include the title of the post in the email subject line. I have found the phrase that will allow me to tweak the body of the email, but cannot find out where to edit the subject line to include the post title.

Has anyone done this successfully??

Thanks in advance.

I need this too!

I have 3.68 PL2

Is there anything within ACP I have to enable to be able to have this in the subject line?

AdminCP > Languages & Phrases > Phrase Manager > (drop down menu) Email Subject Text > notify

The text in there should be Reply to thread '$threadinfo[title]'

mmmhhh. This does not work. Only the forum title appears in the e-mail subject line.

I am not talking about anything in the content field of the email, only the subject line what you always see also in normal mails like "re.:"

Currently, the thread title apperas only within the e-mail. But I need it outside of the e-mail in the regarding textfield of the e-mail header

I changed a few things earlier in the templates. Could that has something to do with it. does this code needs to be present alos somewheer else for working properly?

That is it. That is what is put in as the subject of your email and what you see before you even open the email. If that is correct and still not working, then somewhere when you did an edit, it messed that up and is putting the forum information instead of thread information. Verify that is the same as what I said above. Maybe just copy and paste it in there to be sure.
