Hi.
It seems as if someone made it possible to spam on vbulletin boards..
Today we found a message on our forum about phones from a person with email adress eddystores1970@yahoo.com when i enter this on google. all the spammessages it finds are on vbulletine boards..
Is there a leak or someone found a smart way to go arround the imageverrification?

Yes, nothing new
image verification is cracked within a few seconds by the bots, your forum must have just gotten on their list, be prepared for lots more unless you take other measures to keep them out

moved to vBulletin Discussions (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=111)
try NoSpam! - an alternative to CAPTCHA images (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=124828)
I also recommend taking a closer look at your settings.

Tnx...will take a look at the nospam thing..
For the part of settings...we want to run an open board for members...guests can view everything... We also didn't choose to put new members under moderation...just because it takes a lot of work to grant all new members the normal privileges....
But you right offcourse if it becomes annoying...we dont have any other choice if its the only way to kick these a** holes

I use this

No bots in nearly a year now, and it requires no extra steps to register for legitimate users, I even turned captcha and email verification off.
