Best IRC service?

What is the best IRC service? I am guessing efnet? Can someone here help me installing it or how the hell to get started?

I just want a simple chanel for my forums to use with JIRC to be something like channelname.efnet.net room #channelname...how do I register a channel with efnet people? I cant seem to find any info

also what is this talk about having "bots"? thanks

It depends on the IRC server you are connecting to (you are suggesting efnet) on how to create a new channel. Most networks have a channel named #help for such questions.

PS You might also want to have a look at some smaller networks, depending on the topic of your channel. A lot of vBulletin boards use the irc.vBulletin-Chats.com network.
