Google Analytics has a powerful feature these days which allows you to tracks internal site searches, and get some nice anaylitcs in return.
I would love to see our forum searches hooked up to this, to get a better understanding what people are searching for.
Does anyone know how to achief this with vBulletin? GA looks for URL encoded search strings (ie: search?hl=en&q=Keywords+here), but since vBulletin uses a different technique, it would only be possible by feeding the google script : pageTracker._trackPageview('');

I'm looking for the answer to this question myself. I'd really like to be able to track the top searches on my boards using Google Analytics. This is exactly what is needed:
Enter your 'Query Parameter' in the field provided. Please enter only the word or words that designate an internal query parameter such as "term,search,query". Sometimes the word is just a letter, such as "s" or "q". You may provide up to five parameters, separated by a comma.

I bought Google custom search (ad free) I thought I had ticked all the boxes to get the stats from searches.. But so far I have no idea where that data is displayed.. (I cant see it in Google analytics...)
I sent an email asking Google - no response..
So I want to know too!

The solution is search.php?q=something here
I was going to fix this myself and add a string to the query, catch the string in array to MySQL and then decalre it within the track function. Your post smelt fishy and here is the solution:
