Add unlimited images from any forums into an attractive slideshow. Embed mp3s to your images or to your categories.
Does that without adding one single query and loads instantly.
Tested with 3.60 and higher, including 3.71
Requires vBadvanced (http://www.vbadvanced.com) and vBcover (http://www.vbcover.com) vBslideshow

Brilliant thanks Lionel, something like this would fit in well on my site.
You mention this adds images from any forums, I initially read that and thought it pulled in attachments then displayed them but without queires it obviously doesn't work this way?
I've just taken a look at the vbcover site, didn't even know that existed. Nice one! I kow how this works now.
I'll take a look at this in more detail later, thanks for sharing and good work.

pulls attachments from forums at thread creation or thread edits and put them into an xml, so your site do not have to hit the database with requests for every page hit. And since it reads from xml, the loading is super fast. First image displays and quietly and quickly retrieves the other ones. You could have thousands of images and it will display right away.

1 Year License: vBslideshow (Price: $49.99) description = WHOA!
Looks like a vB "cover" of the Frontpage Slide module by joomla...
Just a lot more expensive... Question: How different is this from https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=164107
Thanx for the share though - just not cheap lol

A world of difference! Twelve display options. Including embedding mp3 to your categories or images (music or voice).
Add as many images as you want
and most important does not perform one single query per each image that you want to display, unlike that example you showed me, which is a site killer! I know, I was the one to create it originally and to quickly drop it after my server kept on spiking with 20 images. Now that I have 200 images on it, you don't feel it at all. Try adding many images to that one.
So this one can display 1000 images without a query versus 10 images 10 queries for the other one at every page load.

WOW - Do I get a discount for offering such an insightful and thoughtful question?
Sounds lovely really - but just a little too expensive at the moment --- BTW just checked out your vBCover.com site = AWESOME stuff on there really - I especially like the magazine hack which would be just perfect for my Forum --- we're writers ya know :P
Anyway - thanx again for the share and the answer to my most insightful and thoughtful question...

And sorry about last time. If you noticed I stopped supporting it long ago and also asked for it to be removed.

This is a great addon.
Is there any way you could also turn this into a product, so it could be run in forum, say in forumhome, bottom of navbar, header, or any other template..?

Hello, Is there a way this could pull images from the Classifieds ( Photopost Classifieds) and run the recent ads as the slideshow?

Package deals might work for me or does the Magazine have it all in one?
VBSEO Compatible?
and also would like to know the same as ssandgirls.
Looks brilliant, just a bit pricey.

Please anyone have this product and he is from Greece. I have problem with Greek characters. I have many products/plugins/hacks and never had any problem with Greek characters. If anyone knows a solution i apreciate any help.
www.bytheway.gr/portal2/forum/vbslideshow.php to see what i mean. The generated slideshow.xml if helps i have a copy here www.bytheway.gr/pictures/vbslideshow.xml .
I have done all steps for installation and the support from lionel/vbcover is great, but i still have problem with greek characters and i cant use it.
Thanks
Lionel

Nectons. You have some forums displaying Greek characters in the slideshow, and some do not. It's either it does not display at all or it displays. When you have some that do and some that don't, then the problem is somewhere else.
You put and image for forum title and you expected for it to display text.
It took me 2 days to explain to you that Flash cannot translate an image into text.
Then you put all kind of quotes in forum title
Then I found out inconsistencies with your threads, with a view source displaying different characters. Until you fix that, it will never work.

So i have to change all the forum just to works with vbslideshow? ... :) .. bytheway i have done the forum names to simple text.. but again the problem excists.
And finnaly i know my forum isnt so proffesional.. and have many many problems that i have to fix them. And i told you i will gona hore someone to make all the hard work to fix them all. But NEVER.. and i mean NEVER had any problem with ANY hack/mod/style/addon/plugin.. NEVER.. with greek characters !!! EVERY SINGLE hack works perfect.
Except vbslidshow.. bytheway why you are not trying to fix the product instead fixing my forum? I dont have any GREEK CHARACTERS PROBLEM IN MY FORUM WITH ANY PRODUCT..

And if someone knows ANY greek site or not greek, that displaying GREEK CHARACTERS with vbslidshow please give me a link ..
\
Because i cant find anyone many days searching online.. and the problem is not the money.. i just need to see this product working on my site.. nothing else. Or anything similar.

If you want a better slideshow, go with Joomlaworks Frontpage Slideshow. First off, it costless... roughly $30-35 USD (22 euros), and it will give you less hassle than vbSlideshow. Installation was a breeze and adding/updating posts with images was a no brainer. Works like a charm.

The only thing I miss, as far as I can see, is the option to choose Gallery Style Rollover.
I dont have that option in my admincp.

Any way to make this fluid so it doesn't break the page on smaller screens?

does this work with 3.8?
Spinball
01-08-2010, 04:29 PM
This *was* working with 3.8 just fine.
But now we have an error - Image failed to upload and underneath -
Image 1 / undefined - undefined
I changed the forum number used and it then worked fine.
Changed it back and we got the same error again.
So is there a bad image somewhere?
If so how can I find out which one?
