View Full Version : Forum Home Enhancements - Members who have posted Today

This modification is no longer available or supported.
This plugin adds a simple display of all members who have posted in the forum - either today (i.e. since midnight) or in the last 24 hours.
The main features of the 3.7 Version ;
1. It displays the list on Forum Home.
2. The list view is collapsable, so you just see the number of posters.
3. Invisible users are only displayed to those allowed to see them (with a "*")
4. Users who should display as coloured or bold etc will be displayed correctly. (based on the display usergroup)
5. If you 'hover' over a username it will show the time they last posted.
6. The list is in member name order.
7. If you click on a members name it will list their posts.
8. The hack is phrased.
9. The ability to turn it on/off is in the ACP Forum Home Options.
10. The ability to allow only certain usergroups to view the list is an ACP option (include or exclude groups).
11. The switch between Posted Today and Rolling 24 Hours is an ACP option.
12. The listing of names can now be suppressed (a simple message is displayed instead).
13. The list of names can be set to be always collapsed on initial view.
14. The option to record and display the Most Ever posters can be enabled.
(Options are located in vBulletin Options > Who Has Posted).
Unzip the XML and import into vB using the ACP Product Manager. Make sure you check the display settings once installed.
To upgrade from the 3.6 version just re-import the product with the overwrite option set to yes.
History:
v3.7.001 : Initial vb 3.7 release.
v3.7.002 : Updated to remove potential $group variable name clash.
v3.7.003 : Updated to use template hook if available.

Paul, is there a way to add an option to this to only have it show the box when someone has posted for that day? I'm using a conditional for the template now but a setting would be better.
And thank you for a great mod, sir. ;)

Do we need to delete the lastpost index for the user table if we uninstall this?

I've just upgraded this mod from the 3.6 version to this 3.7 version, after I had finished upgrading my board from 3.6.9 to 3.7. It is working correctly but I now have a duplication of the text that says "The most posters in one day..." This appears twice in a row under each other.
I uninstalled the 3.6 version before installing the new one.

Indeed I did. I managed to work it out for myself after posting above when i continued to go through my mods updating them and came to the one above that mentioned it was now obsolete.
Thanks for the help though, and keep up the great work with your mods. They are all great. :)

Since that modification is totally obsolete now, Ive modified the installation code (of the relevant 3.7 versions) to remove it automatically. The 3.6 versions have extra code in them to cope with its presence anyway.

Hello,
Is there a way to reset "most ever" stats for the most users over 24hrs and the most posters ever over 24hrs?

If there are queries, running code on every page will run those queries on all pages. If it is set to only run on the forumhome, the queries will only be executed there. Clearer now? ;)

yes Bobby i can understand this, but i don't understand what are the differences between the 'real' results ...
i mean this: if i enable the code onto all the board, maybe i have some different results (like many more users that have posted) that normally i haven't if the code runs only onto the forumhome?
example: if a spider is 'logged' directly onto a specific thread and i haven't enabled the code onto 'showthread' (so all the pages) i can't track this spider? or if the spider checks a userprofile the tracking works?
i need to know this ... :)
like always thanks Bob ;)
