Calendar events posted directly from the forum

Is there a hack that allows users to post directly to the calendar from a forum post?

I think there was a hack from phpBB that allows the users who created a thread to be able to link that directly to the calendar.

I've never seen one. But there's one (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=123416) that automatically posts a new event in a forum.
