Opera/firefox problem on forum

I've just installed a rotating banner mod

If you view that in IE there is a gap between the header image and the banner but in Opera and Firefox there is no gap!

I have made the gap by adding "<tr></tr>" in the header code to space out the banner. Is this the correct way to do that?

No. A <tr> must contain at least one <td> Further, it must contain as many td's as all the other rows unless you use colspan or rowspan.
