Old Skins - Recoding

This may bring up some sore point so sorry in advance....

Back when ravio was in business i bought some skins from them @ vbskins.com (when corey owned it) now obviously they are not doing business anymore.

Would it be wrong of me or anyone else to recode them to 3.6.8 or to 3.7.0 and release them for free?

I think you would have to ask the author for permission. It would be fine however to recode them for your own personal use (I.E the sites that you purchased te skins for initially)

my point being that corey is now out of business for ripping people off ... so there would be no way to get in contact with him

If you are able to contact the original owner is irrelevant. You will need his permission to redistribute.
