Make sure wherever you want it, you put $vbnews_ticker there (i.e. navbar, forumhome, footer, etc.)
Also, edit your admincp options for everything you need (general, forums, etc.)

Quick question....is there a way i can put an rss feed on the ticker so i can show mlb scores, etc.
When i tried doing it my forum became a white screen with a bunch of writing.

As long as you upload the RSS files and only use the URL in the admincp for the admincp options, it should work. If it doesn't PM me the location and the RSS feeed and I'll take a look. Not all RSS feeds will work, but it works with most every one.
Btw, don't forget to click install.

By the way, I added it right above the Log-In info in the template. That works well for people that can't find what you originally said in the thread :)

So, let me understand you correctly.
You have a forum with 1 forum that is hidden. You are using the ticker.
A) You want to hide the forum but allow the ticker to display news from that forum?
or
B) You want to display all news from all forums except that one hidden forum?
Would it not be better to have the forums selected based on permissions? If the member can see the forum then they will see entries from that forum in the ticker. If they do not have permissions to a forum then there will be no entries from that forum in the ticker.
This is something that I would need before being able to use this (which I would like to do) because 10 forums is no enough for us but we cannot use the all forums option.

Hi David, agin thanx for this beatifull mod. I have a problem with this mod. when a thread is created in my forum, topic goes top of scroll, this is normal but when in created topic, posts are sent, scrolling ticker doesn`t update and updated topic isn`t shown in news ticker. I don`t know if I can tell you the existing problem.

I plan on changing the way permissions are handled.

This is normal - it is based on thread creation, not on thread update. Thread update would require modification all queries related.

I have no idea if this is still being supported but I gave it a try using a twitter rss feed. It worked beautifully for a while then disappeared. I don't know the reason it disappears but could use any advice if anyone here has experienced any disappearing rss feed issues. Thanks.
