Ok for the past couple of days i keep getting this error when i try to send emails or activate new members accounts. Its making me lose lots of members, cuz i cant activate any accounts. Please help me!

Here is the error i get:
Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: SSL operation failed with code 1. OpenSSL Error messages: error:1408F10B:SSL routines:func(143):reason(267) in /includes/class_mail.php on line 604

Check your settings in vBulletin Option -> Email Settings and make sure they are correct.

Everything looks normal in those settings. Could it be anything else?

Why are you sending mail via SSL ?

Anyway, error reason 267 is apparently a mismatch in SSL versions, for example - your client is using SSL v2 while the server is trying to use SSL v3.

@paul so its my host? and i just went into the admin panel and hit users and send mail so im just doing it that way. Is there another way i sohuld be doing it? Also how come it gives me that error when i try activating someones account?

I don't think you understood the question - I mean why are you using secure (SSL) connections to send all your e-mail (you must have configured this in your vb options as it's not the default, and quite rare).

Oh i dunno i think my host set it up that way. Cuz i no the guy that hosts me and i made him admin also. So he might have change it to be like that. HOw can i unchange it?
