I don't get why people ask these questions...

First, its a beta your not meant to use it on a live site
Second, its an update to the previous beta its just bug fixes & about 3 extra features
Thirdly, why not try it out yourself on a test board or wait till there is a stable version released.

I dont need to 'try it' on a test board ;) I got all I needed from VB.com.

BUT, I feel the need to ask because my new found love of surfing the vb.com profiles I see a lot of people ARE running on a live site and I have even seem a large board.

So I ask, why and hows it going. Thats all. But thanks!

I have no problem with b3 at the moment on my live forums. Everything is working fine. Of course I tested all functionality on my test forums before I upgraded live fourms.

Traxdata has done the right thing. Install it on your test forum and test out all your modifications and hacks. Just because it is working live on sites A, B, and C, does not in anyway mean it will work just fine on your site.

I have a very modified site, so I was waiting for stable. It doesnt trouble me to much to upgrade my live site. If something goes bang I turn off plug ins and turn em back on one by one.

I back up first of course ;) I work on the weekends when I have very little users online.

Brave huh? LOL

If a mod breaks on an update, I try to fix it, if I cant.. It goes in the trash. I use test site for rebuilds and trial mods. Although, I guess I should have a build ready to go, just in case.

I want to know more I guess about user response etc.. The yahoo feature.. what it is, what you've learned etc. The hands on stuff.

The stuff you cant get from a test site. Common, work with me here LOL

I am. I know also that one of my affiliates is still using Beta 2 on a live site. Oh, and with about 20 modifications installed, a few styles and it's going great. It's also not the only 'beta' thing I'm using.

I have had 2 major products on my site that were beta and worked pretty much as planned. Even a gold product can have unforeseen exploit vulnerabilities. One product I have, just went RC after a year of functional beta. Beta is good for building and adding features. RC is for fine tuning and gold is for stable permanent release.

Beta Isnt always a bad thing to do but being as I have a very large board, I would never run to upgrade. LOL Wait a few weeks and see what other brave souls pick up.

The coders of this great platform have to recommend not installing it, to cover there bums. Does that mean they dont really want you too? haha

The only real way to find most bugs in a product is to test it live, where it will get lots of abuse. KWIM? I thank the users that are live with the beta.. speeds up the process IMO. Jelsoft I would assume is greatful and looks forward to LIVE beta users too. All to often, its my users that spot the problems on my board not me. ;)

I really would like to learn more about the yahoo replacement. I'm a total noob on this stuff and want to research it so I know what exactly it is doing and how its going to improve every thing.
