Not sure if this has been brought up but:

This is awesome!

Is this going to be available for the public? :D

EDIT: I havent found it to be a mod in the section, but I could be wrong.

That is Joe's decision as I believe that he just whipped it up to fix some width issues.

It (the quote/box) doesn't really stand out much from the alt2 (or whatever), FWIW.

(On Red Rum, at least.)

Yeah, we are discussing a solution to that. ( Eg. Altering the background color slightly.)

I love em :P. It looks perfect on the Blue lagoon style.

Solution would be to use replacement variables so that each quote image can be assigned to each style. This way the colour can be change to accommodate the style and the image can be saved correctly to compliment the background colour of each style. it just leaves more room to have an image which will not only look good but saved correctly for each styles alt background.

That's if I understood the conversation between kall & Danny correctly.

Edit: which I didn't.

Where can I get quotes like this or what mod is this being used?

I do beleive you can edit your quote bbcode template to achieve this...maybe

exactly, this is simply a template edit...: bbcode_quote (i think... because i do not have any vB to play with right now)

I think you understood me. :)

Thing is, because it's just a template edit, that edit can be applied independently per style.. could even have a special alt_quote css style.

Yeah, they're very cool!

Confused me at first though, cuz we just reformatted our hard drive, and I thought we messed something up, cuz the quotes looked funny here!:erm::eek::rolleyes::D

I believe it was a joke - directed to programmers.
missing quotes = parse errors

With regards to the other quote thread that just got closed before i could reply.

Yeah, I only said that because I've suggested (twice I think) that a spy glass would look better not only that it would be more appropriate but it seems to have been overlooked when a reply regarding the suggestion would have been nice.

I'll ask again, and put the suggestion forward for the 3rd time. Viewpost icon would look better as a spyglass icon? yes/no/maybe/shelley would be best buying another vb license and going under a username unknown to anyone and put her suggestions forward so they at least get a reply or taken seriously. Oops, a joke.

Anyway, jokery aside, how about the spyglass idea the whole implementation of the quote thing looks great but there's room for improvement.

I've been putting some thought into it - haven't decided what to do
leaving things as-is for now

I think we need a border there - a dashed one might look good.

Adding the end quote might be nice however I like them without borders all the way around. The blockquote effect and the left border identifies it enough without making it the main focus of the post.

Indeed, or a background color. It's pretty confusing now.
End quotes can also help, but not fully.

I thought I was the only one LOL - I really like the original style quote much better - but it is nice to have additional options :)
